liberated borg for f2p

hello I would like to ask one question would making the liberated borg class accessible to f2p members greatly improve or diminish game play I for one wish to play as a liberated borg but I have to be a preferred or a subscriber look people I'm going to be honest you need to start thinking about those players who are under aged for a credit card make liberated borg a f2p race it would make a lot of people happy I can assure you of this also please think about expanding the 23c captains and don't tie the romulans into their allied story arc give them their own and also on the 23c captains they should be able to only get their ships on level up these ideas i would not suggest unless I thought they would help but I do not work for you but seriously start thinking about your under aged players.

No, Liberated Borg is an exclusive for Lifetime Subscribers, should they decide to change that the only change I would support is removing the Lib Borg option entirely. I am a monthly subscriber with nearly 2000 days of subscription time.

Although, it would be nice for those 1000 day subscribers to be able to play as Liberated Borg captains.

There are ways to create a pseudo-Liberated Borg captain. Especially with the Seven of Nine costume for female Starfleet Captains and female Federation-aligned Romulans. The outfit contains the facial and hand implants of Seven of Nine. There is also the Infected skin for Aliens.

If you are a console user, then the LTS pack is in the C-Store if I recall correctly from other console users so it is possible to acquire the LTS pack for free by converting Dilithium to Zen. Would give you bragging rights if you are able to accomplish it.

    Ehhh, no.

Liberated Borg is an LTS sale point, and an LTS only benefit, so, no.

While I'm not opposed to this, because I'm a proponent of offering more choices to people, I doubt it'll happen. Making Liberated Borg a free to play race, after 5 (6) or so years of it being purely Lifetimer perk would upset a large chunk of customer base, in a way no sane publisher would want to. Your best options are either to get 7 of 9 costume parts from C-Store or get yourself LTS - obviously the LTS is only worth it, if you enjoy the game and will stick around for the forseeable future.

I got to agree that i don't see them taking away a perk from the lts, which cost those same people quite a bit of money upfront to get. Now I would not mind seeing them kick out some more cybernetic type tailoring options, which allow you get something close via the Alien gen, but for going giving us any of the actual traits or specific things on the Lib-borg race itself.

The only other options I could see is the idea of a cooperative borg race option, which you could buy in the C-store. Though even this option would need to be made quite different an unique from the Lts liberated borg race, since than both would be good options with differne pros an cons.

Since they would also hate heat they could join the snowman borg in Q's wonderland. :D

Let's make a compromise, give the F2P people the other LTS exclusive race and see how they like that. :p

Veteran destroyers, veteran uniforms, veteran material, remember, instant veteran rewards is also an LTS benefit. Will admit though, if I hadn't bought my LTS like 3 or 4 years ago, I wouldn't even consider doing so now. You never know how much life STO has left in it, and an LTS takes a while to pay itself back, mine has done so by now, especially since I got mine during a sale.

And to add one more thing to this discussion:

Yup i agree and you nee to get your own mallow roasting stick :)

I do not support removing the paywall to provide additional content to those who do not have the ability, will, or refuses to pay. That being said, I do believe the OP actions on posting on the forums instead of using his allowance, bar mitzvah money, future dowry, college fund on something that provides a instant gradifcation that he alone can justify to his parents show lack of forethought.
I am adding this to the list of how much of a disdain I have for F2Pers, and now at a community moderator's opinion.

Would it really hurt people if the OP got to be a make believe species in an online game? I'd be more worried about November then a borg.

Another thing is that F2Pers already have it fairly well in STO, just look at STO's competitor, SWTOR, try that as a F2Per unable or refusing to spend a dime, and then tell me how bad STO is.

But yeah, aside from my Liberated Borg race being an LTS benefit, I say no even if only because OP is basically just showing that he wants it, but is unwilling to spend a dime to get it, he's the kind of person who would have still made this thread if Liberated Borg had been a c store race like Klingon or Joined Trill.

Why stop at giving f2p access to just *one* of the LTS benefits?

Wasn't for all the free to players this game would of died. Just because people don't want to shell out $200 for a mediocre game, doesn't mean they shouldn't have a borg.

Well.. considering it's an LTS benefit, I guess it does mean that.

Of course it does, it's a special reward and incentive to do exactly that.

Anyways, OP is not missing out on much, they really aren't anything special as far as species go.

And he could always roll and alien, then buy the costume unlocks for the borg eyepiece and what not, plus he could make up a bio and RP a reason why he doesn't have any remaining borg tech after being liberated (if he cant afford the borg eyepiece).

If I couldn't afford a lib borg, I would just RP it.
