Stuck on item upgrade screen (XB1)

Upgraded my warp engine, was successful. Up popped a 'item upgraded' screen with 'claim item'

However it won't let me claim the item nor will it allow me to back out of this. The game completely locks up it seems each time I try to get it.

Any ideas?

I should note - I have logged out and still having issues. Also turned XB1 off and on, still stuck when trying to collect item

Don't know if you are still having this issue, I just had it myself on the PS4.
The way I solved this issue was to make sure there was room in your inventory and while in your inventory click on a item (any will do) and go to the option to upgrade. For me this bypassed the claim screen on the previous item I was upgrading.

i have had the same problem and was cause my inventory was full
