Game freezes upon entering space combat-only for one character on account

One of my characters is causing the game to freeze (and DC) every time I go into space combat. This occurs with either a flock of Borg spheres or a single Klingon. I have unslotted all abilities that have potentially caused lag or freezing (FAW, KLW, etc), and have even fired one weapon at a time manual. It still freezes.
It's not my computer or ISP, and all my other characters are completely unaffected. Have seen it happen on Borg and Tholian RA's, and on the system patrols for Argala, Beta Thoridor, and Japori. My computer is an i7 and is more then cpable of running STO. This has only happened for the last 90 minutes or so.
