Therefore it would be awesome to be able to buy missed event items/ships.

I'm fine with the idea, but Cryptic apparently feels that "exclusive is good" and that if people have years to get a shiny they will not take any particular event seriously.
But they did give us the Infinity Lock Box to let us pick old ships and gear of our choice, maybe they'll have an Infinity Event someday.
I'd like an opportunity to get some older event items on characters I didn't run events on. Maybe as a Dilithium item for an account unlock.
We do kinda need a decent sink to get control of the exchange.
As for the Infinity Box... It kinda makes sense as with each lockbox that is released, the more cluttered we were getting during the lockbox events. With EVERY box dropping, it was harder to try and focus on one particular box you wanted. The Infinity Box means you no longer have to. Just pick the reward you want and BOOM!
It would make a LOVELY Dilithium sink!
There were 25k Mirror Guardians produced for the charity event. I'm one of the grateful few. If I missed it, then it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter to me either that I didn't complete MI this time round either. I'm not going to throw a hissy-fit because they won't make it available via an easy purchase.

The OP could have been around a lot longer than you're assuming. NONE of us with Temporal alts have the Voth Admiralty Card. Even people who actually DID take part in the event. The thing is that they are per character. Its easy to get the reward on all your alts running Crystaline. But Mirror and Breach take significantly longer, and the more alts you have... you burn out.
At least giving an option for players who have participated in these events in the past to get these items for alts who didn't (that are on the same account in case anyone wants to split hairs) for a price is reasonable, and may also help a bit with the Dilithium Exchange. Making a desirable item available means people will want to get Dilithium, thus raising the demand for Dilithium, thus lowering the exchange rate to something more reasonable. Veteran players have a way to get at these rewards for their alts, and the DL Exchange comes back into more balance so that everyone can benefit. Everyone wins.
If its not for account wide unlock, then on a per character basis. Means more DL. But still... it is an option. Its unreasonable to expect someone with 50 alts to grind Mirror Invasion, which takes 15 minutes per character. You'd burn out before the first day was even done!
Overreacting?? Not really. I have 11 characters, it matters not if I don't have all the admiralty cards for every character. When I create a new character I understand and accept that it won't get all the 'bells and whistles' and I most certainly don't feel like I should be entitled to them either. I treat every character as a seperate entity.
And lastly, the OP does state he has missed events!
