PS4 - Bridge Officer Rarity Bug

Hello, I got a new BOff (uncommon Male Klingon Tactical) through one of the Missions and after got a free slot, I wanted to add him to my active Crew. After I changed his name and appearance at the Tailor, he was reduced to a standard BOff, as his description changed from green prior to the cange to white. Is this a graphical bug or a gameplay one? I am unsure if his Skills changed, since I didn't memorized them all before changing him ...
