So I've tried it bugs and all, it's just as terrible as I thought it would be. The thought of having to go through and re-level reputations, traits, ship traits, commendations, crafting, and specializations all over again is just too daunting.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to not have character transfer at least was not thinking with their head. Those of us who've played since beta would have been such a support structure for your transfer to console, you should have supported us as players.
There are no technical difficulties that make this impossible, there are no issues with agreements that make this unheard of, other studios do it all the time even between platforms, so tell us the real reason why we can't transfer our characters.
Trust me I know how it works, I can't explain how I know but I do.

Please see the eleventy other threads on this topic going back months.
No point in beating the horse further it's long dead and buried. Then dug up again several times for further beatings.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
So yes, dead horse. Eleventy other threads. Discussed and debated and discussed and debated and round and round and no need for 2 new threads a day on the same topic.

1. All my PC stuff will transfer.
2. Somebody gives me a free console to play on.
3. Consoles utilize a mouse and keyboard interface.
IOW I ain't gonna be playing on console, ever.
So don't play it. SO. WHAT? They're already perfectly comfortable taking your money through the PC client.
Not a fan of the controls

It was said very early in development no character transfer.
To keep going on about it zzz zzz.
Console launch isn't for existing players why would it be. Cryptic already have you playing and hopefully paying. It was done to try and bring in new cliental that don't play on PC but would try the game on console and stick around long enough for Cryptic to make some $$$ off them.
If you want/prefer to play Console then you'll have to accept that you start brand new.

Then anyone who creates a duplicate thread gets a vacation. A longer one if they try using a vague or misleading title.
I'm just wondering why you're not using your amazing psychic IT skills in a professional setting.

Let's see if we can clear up the OP's confusion. "The Console version of STO was not for you, the PC player".
Cryptic clearly did not want to shift any noticeable % of PC gamers over to Console. They wanted to add console players to the existing ranks.
There are dynamic differences between PC and console. Differences that cannot be overcome easily and certainly not economically in order to allow for migration of captains. Down the road when those differences are mitigated, that could change, but no promises.
So, fact: OP clearly does not "know how it works".
