Whining about a company taking the time to fix things...especially after its been out for so long is just childish
Could be worse. Could be every day like dcuo does. Every single day at exactly the same time. And yet it's still one of the buggiest games I've ever played
You release a game in the EU/UK and you decide to do maintenance when these people get home from school/work?
Well, at least now i definitely know i won't be buying a life time sub! Thanks for helping me make the right choice PWE!
You can always attempt to contact Cryptic Studio and offer to have them relocate to your country at your own expense. But you will also need to find offices and homes for the staff as well as locate a nearby server farm to host the game.
While it may be rather expensive, at least you can take comfort in the fact that maintenance will be based on business hours of your country.
They are always doing maintenance first thing in the morning... their morning. Their offices are on the West coast. In case something goes wrong they have the whole day to work on a fix instead of paying their employees overtime. It's a reasonable arrangement.
This^^
Yes it is a bit unfair, but there will always be someone affected by maintenance. The time chosen is the quietest time of the server as stated numerous times.
Hah, no not really. The European player base outnumbers the US player base by far. Meaning that at 4pm CET, it would be the most busy time on the server.
Heck, this game even broke sales records in the UK alone.
In the US, this game really isn't as popular as some people want you to believe.
It's pathetic, that's what it is. you'd think they'd treat their biggest player base with a bit more respect than this.
Fairly certain most of the customer base isn't in Europe.
"Player Base".
Yes, they are.
Just because there are a lot of European players playing this game, doesn't mean they play it immediately after school.
Every time the topic has come up,the answer is the same: This is the time frame the least amount of players are affected. That doesn't mean the least amount of Europeans, or the least amount of Americans, or the least amount of Australians, or the least amount of Martians. It doesn't mean the least amount of you, either. It just means the least amount of players.
It makes a lot of sense to me that the peak point is not in the afternoon, but sometime later. People with work and family might come home between 5 to 7, and then grab some food with their family, potentially bring the children to bed and then have time to play.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

Based on what evidence?
It's pretty much this hard to keep just one timeline intact. ♪
