No, make it T6, just without any temporal stuff or other bells and whistles.
While I would love it to be T6 I think that could de-value the Promo Connie more then Cryptic would want. That would be a big troll to the whales who spent big money getting the promo ships even without all the bells and whistles. They would never do that and possibly hurt their future whale revenue.
I am amazed at how completely you missed the point of my story hartz. I can't for the life of me understand how anyone can read literally the exact opposite of what was written. You claimed Cryptic made changes to "curb the ec billionaires" & I pointed out that what they really did was create many new ways for all kinds of players to create their own wealth.
And yet you mentioned not becoming an EC billionaire, if things on the exchange are dropping in price, people are paying less EC, which is less EC going into the pockets of the billionaires while also making items more available to everyone else.
Besides if they weren't feeling the hurt they probably wouldn't be yammering about how people should buy things too trade for EC and then sell them the EC for private seller amounts to get the new thing.

as I said....no temporal stuff, no bells and whistles....just the basic T6 ship, with the basic T6 mastery. Something that can go along with them. Not to mention just 4 weapons in front, 4 in back.
The only place Cryptic trolls players is in people's heads.
The Kelvin and 23c R&D ships are not essential to enjoy the game - in the case of the 23c ships there are other, very playable options available. So any argument about how unfair their limited availability is essentially boils down to a question of player entitlement and self-inflicted pressure.
If anyone can find an example of where a premium, limited availability ship has been made available by other means... please point it out, because the only one I can think of was the giveaway Ferengi shuttle when Arc was first released. Even the Infinity lockbox still keeps the old lockbox ships as, well, lockbox drops.
I *can* see Cryptic providing other TOS themed ships as an anniversary giveaway. But given that the R&D promo event runs on to after the anniversary, I honestly can't see them using the same ships. Why undermine what is probably the most lucrative promo box in their history?
Actually I said I've never had a billion EC all at one time,
Then you're not a billionaire, Billionaire means you have at least 1 billion on you or assets that add up to at least 1 billion. Not how much all the spending a person has done over time otherwise we'd probably have way more people classified as that.
There's another option I've not seen mentioned: an endgame Connie (whatever tier) bundled with the Constitution (2268) interior in the C-Store, similar to the Pathfinder-Voyager interior bundle.

Yeah but are they still selling the interior separate in the C-store.
Trust me, I have in game assetts worth way more than 1 billion EC total, & that doesn't count my private fleet.
Are they things you have for the sole purpose of potentially selling them? Because I'm pretty sure thats the closed thing to assets you can have in the game.
well I should imagine someone spending 100million a week would have a lot more than a billion - probably more like 10 billion+
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
In some ways I hope they do this as it will at least allow all those people who can't afford the T6 version an end game Connie. There will be forum fires I think.

No matter what happens, there will be forum fires. That's an ongoing constant of life, from the first time two people began discussing a topic on the very first ARPAnet forum.

What about making a hypothetical giveaway ship exclusive to TOS characters? The R&D promo box would still be usable by all factions and it'd incentivize players to get their TOS characters to a point where they could use that ship.
I suppose a tier 5U Connie or D7 will neither have Intel nor Temporal specs. Why should I fly them? I mean the special attributes of the tier 6 versions are barely enough to make them stand out ships already.
I would not feel trolled though as I’d appreciate the admiralty cards delivered with such ships.

Can you image if they release a T5 version of the promo ships for the anniversary? Upgradeable to T5u? A lot of players would be happy and a lot who spent a lot of money on the promo would be upset. Yes the promo ship would be better, but still this would be classic. Would be a huge troll by cryptic.
Possible?
If Cryptic pulls something like this (and nothing they do would surprise me anymore), let me know. I want to avoid the forums and forum lynch mobs.

There already is a T5 D7* and a T5 fleet version available to fleets with Shipyard Tier 1. You also have T5 and T6 versions of the light warbird that admittedly can't use the T'Liss skin, but if you paint it white, zoom the camera out, and squint, it might look kind of like a T'Liss.

That's getting greedy. No connie for you.
That's greedy as in how?
You want for free what others paid a billion ev for. Well not exactly...but you are getting close enough.
oh, how DARE me! I'll try not to lose sleep over that.

Or keep the temporal stuff and nix the battlecruiser stats, extra spec seat, and the extra Lt. Commander seat.
