Ultimate troll for the 50th anniversary - T5 Tos free ships?

Can you image if they release a T5 version of the promo ships for the anniversary? Upgradeable to T5u? A lot of players would be happy and a lot who spent a lot of money on the promo would be upset. Yes the promo ship would be better, but still this would be classic. Would be a huge troll by cryptic.

    To be honest I could see this happening quite easily. Wait till they have the money off the players and then drop free versions anyway.
    But...the promo is still ongoing until after the anniversary so maybe not as this would knock their sales of promo packs a bit i'd guess.

    a straight t5 maybe, but not a t5u... But personally, I don't see it, they've gone to greed... to hell with the players they just want the morons with money

    I was saying it would be a troll, because some people have waited 6 years for a endgame Connie. Then they release it for an average cost of about $150, then release a T5 version a few days later after taking the money from so many diehard Connie fans? That would be trolling I guess.
    Especially since a lot of people would have opted for the free one.

    And the Kelvin lock box promo is still going on, that didn't stop them from dropping the TOS Connie promo during it.

    Please don't turn this into a anti dental thread. My use of the word trolling was more generic. Like "wow can you believe they would do that to the players", kind of way.

    An extra Admiralty card is always useful. If they would want to troll then I'd be a 1x card
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    I could easily see this happening, let everyone have a chance to buy it, then give everyone a free T5 upgradeable version without any of the bells and whistles. Or make an event/c-store T6 refit, with the r&d version needed to unlock the TOS skin.

    I have the r&d version on the toon I wanted an Excalibur for, but I'd love to get something for my other characters.

    If Cryptic really wanted to troll us with the TOS Constitution, then they would release a Tier 6 version, but without the Molecular Reconstruction system and a different console and ship trait.

    As it is, the Utility Cruiser is the only AoY ship from the 23rd Century. The other "23rd Century ships" are from between the 26th to 31st Century and built to only look like 23rd Century ships. So we are not getting a Tier 6 TOS Constitution, but a futuristic ship made to look like it is from the 23rd Century.

    Its going to hard to get over the R&D ships, they wasted anything I have expected from the 50th. I see outfits coming, maybe. Hell, i would have paid for that D7, but now....

    It's possible. And seriously? I HOPE it happens. I truly do.

    Sure I spent a ton of money for a Temporal Light cruiser.

    But if all the rest of you get a chance to fly whatever slightly lower version of the ship (T5, T5-U, Non-temporal, however they choose to water it down to a free ship) they want to offer for free? I'd be super super SUPER happy for everyone!

    They're not going to hamstring the people paying tons of money for the benefit of the people paying nothing.

    The 'trolling' flows one direction: downhill.

    Well I guess with Admiralty Cards they don't have to worry much about graphics work and testing out the item to see if it works as intended. Side benefit, they really don't have to worry about bugs and unintended consequences.

    I didn't forget. I was prophesizing it months before it happened.

    The order to release those two in for maximum take was obvious. If anything I was a little surprised we got the TOS Constitution in time for the Anniversary, since Paramount had so publicly bulldogged CBS out of releasing their new TV series then to maintain focus on ST:Beyond.

    Apparently, you have not thought your troll ship out hard enough. Since it would obviously have to have its dilithium crystal power replenished every 30 days, by way of a 200,000 dilithium contribution via the player. Otherwise it would remain in the shipyard unable to be used until resupplied.

    not gonna happen they wont do anything that messes with that cash cow

    In this thread, "trolling" means Cryptic doing anything - anything at all - that makes the company any money. (See also "cash grab", "greed".) Instead, the company is supposed to subsist on the goodwill of all the people who will love them for giving everything away for free; unsure how this translates to keeping the lights on and the mouths fed, but apparently those matters are unimportant.​​

    Actually I would think the ultimate trolling would be after the promo and Kelvin lockbox are over Cryptic announces that all promo give away ships will be added to the infinity lock box, followed by changes that force all prize ships to be sold only through the exchange, there by gutting the EC billionaires ability to make loads of EC.

    And again there's NO UNIVERSE where Cryptic is going to directly assault the people doing the heavy lifting in keeping the company's doors open.
