All us various questers meet up in a place called Camelot. Tis quite silly.
Nah, I'll be questing in Azeroth while mourning the death of my King. With a reasonably-priced T6 Excalibur out the window though I'll support your quest for a T6 Sovereign as the next C-Store ship.
Sorry, good sir knight, I must divert to a T6 Patrol Escort first. The Nadeon bombs will be most useful in defeating a certain, cave dwelling, demon.
Hmm ... that could be useful for obliterating a certain underground city full of treacherous zombies ... but alas, the Sovereign was always next on my list after the Excalibur.
Time to save up my EC. I won't 'gamble' for the ship, but I wouldn't mind having it either. And since I'm not blowing Zen to buy keys to sell to get my EC, well, let me just say that when I finally get the T6 Connie...

Some of my fleet, including me, have been using pumped-up Tier 1 Connies for PVEs. Have had lots of fun and some good laughs too (whoever blows up last wins).
I like the idea of the upgraded Connie - I think at Tier 6 we also lose something, a little.
This was probably the best way to thread the needle, CBS-style.
If they had left contraband turn ins alone I might have gotten back into the game for this even though its a scam. Took the old carrot off and no new carrot no kdf return.
Selling the T6 Connie for less than 750 Mil ECs would be short changing themselves. This ship is the most sought after in all of STO. I would even expect this ship to be sold outside of the Exchange for 750+ Mil ECs.
I see a lot of rage here directed towards Cryptic, but you have to understand that they are pursuing a successful business model that has been encouraged by the players.
There is a way for everyone that wants the TOS Constitution end game ship to get it, but it will require the same amount of discipline that the fans way back when used to save the show and make this game possible.
This is not a dig at Cryptic as I'm still over the moon over the Kelvin Universe stuff and I'm quite happy, so much so that I actually got a lifetime subscription after 6 years.
If everyone treats the TOS Constitution the same way they treated the Kelvin Constitution then the ship will be available on the exchange for a reasonable price. (the Kelvin Constitution is about 50 bucks right now)
If this offer doesn't gain a lot of money for Cryptic then they will offer it in a different manner such as those that have been suggested by the people here.
You've just crossed the final frontier... prime universe faction ships in a prize box... this is a sad day...
I'm going to have to agree with you there, anyone who says people are entitled because of said complaint I guess don't care about the rules. So all old gamble ships should become c-store ships then?
you greedy farking bastiches...... SERIOUSLY you can't just let us buy these from the gods be damned c-store????
I begin to think the gecko has a gambling addiction and wants to force it on us. -.-
*sets up stall to sell popcorn, torches and pitchforks*
Completely, agreed, this is absolutely disgusting and IMO the worst thing Cryptic has EVER done to the fans.
The one ship that has been the most heavily requested in the entire history of the game, and they lock it behind a bloody limited-time gambling wall.
At least the Kelvin stuff is here to stay with infinity lockboxes and what not, but R&D promo's are extremely far and few between, but somehow I highly doubt this R&D promo will "ever" return again.
If Cryptic had any sense of Common decency they would have made it a TOS faction exclusive T6 ship instead of this travesty which just flies in the face of the fans.

It's not unexpected, but at the same time it's funny that the Kelvin Timeline Constitution is going to be more prevalent than the Prime Timeline Constitution. Apparently it's statistically more likely for a ship to be flung into the future from a divergent timeline's past than simply being kept in mothballs or as a museum ship, or for one to be rebuilt as a timeship for era-specific operations. Our Temporal Agency must be woefully incompetent.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

There's a couple of things wrong with this. The JJprise is exactly $79 right now when you calculate keys. And the price of the most anticipated, most clamored for ship of all time will not drop to lock box level pricing.
Despite the inaccuracies in your post, this statement is still valid. For the people that have the cash and/or work hard enough, the ship will be attainable.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Instead of Rage restraint is called for.
You do know these R&D Packs drop rates are extremely low much lower then a lockbox ship. They will never be reasonable much like the bug ship. But I personally won't support this obvious, breaking of rules they decided on. They could have easily made it c-store, and made quite abit. I know there will be people who buy into this but if you care about the rules cryptic set for themselves when they made lockboxs etc a thing. Don't support this other wise you might see everything in a gamble box. I don't want to see the game head in that direction so I will just stop investing money into the game. Sorry cryptic but this is a sham, and to everyone laughing laugh away. I don't give a hoot about you or your pointless posts.
What also makes this promo extra disgusting and vile is how they flaunted the Kelvin Constitution and even gave it a TOS Hull Material! Intentionally misleading people into thinking that "this was it" as far as the Constitution was concerned.
Disgusting...

F2p games thrive off whales rather than the average player. These so-called whales are a small subset of rich people that can literally afford anything, and they don't give a damn about anyone else than their own satisfaction, and they are also the only ones greedy corporations care about.

I am severally disappointed in Cryptic, CBS, & PWE.
Not for giving players a true T6 Connie (and TOS Klingon & Romulan equivalents), but in how they are being made available. Hell, I would of figured out how to get the funds to get one, if not all three of them through the C-Store. The fact that you're including the other available ship skins that those ships could use. Anything further would most likely get this post edited/banned.
This is a even worse blunder than adding the KT-junk ships into the game.
Thank you for the time...

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content
Wow. My powers of true prophecy confirmed. As soon as Paramount no longer needed to protect the KT Constitution's visual space a T6 TOS constitution becomes inevitable, available starting on the anniversary and sold via the most punishing -- but also recurring -- method in the game: R&D promos. All taking place after the KT Constitution had a solid window to tap that need.
Word for ****ing word how I said it would happen. Almost like I knew what I was talking about for WHY we hadn't had a T6 connie before...

You're off actually. The chances of winning a promo ship are actually higher than a lock box ship. Lock box ships are cheaper though because more lock boxes get opened than promo packs do. Also, promo ships are usually more desirable. So more people keep them.

Interesting point of view. Were you to own your own business, would you cater to those customers who can afford your product(s), thereby keeping you and your business profitable or focus on people who cannot afford your product(s)?

Posts like this really serve no purpose. Hopefully a mod will come and edit these.
It does serve a purpose. It creates delicious tears of rage and frustration. I feast on those tears. It's my favorite dish. This is professional level trolling peeps. Cryptic finally gave you your ship, against their better judgement... behind a thousand dollar paywall.
I might actually buy some of those R&D packs just to get the ship to sell on the exchange. Taking bids now, starting at 1 billion EC.

We got a t6 Connie before a t6 Sovereign.
A t6 Connie.
Came first.

And actually, now I want a T6 NX Class.
*sigh*
Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.
But hey, at least that leaves some hope for a Temporal Light Cruiser (Miranda, Centaur, Shikahr) right? Right?
"Let them eat static!"
I've wanted a T6 NX for a long time, but after the promo pack treatment the connie is getting I hope it never comes.
