Star Trek Klingon Academy - who completed it despite the stability issues?

Played Starfleet Academy when I was a kid. (now available on gog by the way). Loved it. Many years later got Klingon Academy. Liked it up to the point of not being able to finish missions due to crashing. I quit after this one mission ALWAYS crashed at random points partway through. Any and all fixes that I found online didn't work.
I would like to be able to someday complete the game. If I am to be motivated enough to dig it out of storage, I'm going to need a reason to think that I might actually get somewhere with it.
