Visual bug with Temporal Defense Impulse Engines

I've noticed that the visuals (the "rainbow-colored sparks") for the Temporal Defense Combat Impulse Engines (from the temporal defense rep) stop working at random times during combat.
The only way to get the impulse engine visuals to start working again is to either change maps or un-equip the engines and then re-equip them.
I know there is plenty of hate in the community for those rainbow effects, but I actually like how these engines look on the Vorgon Xyfius Heavy Escort ... I just wish the visual effects would stop randomly turning off.
