like I can get 400 mill EC you all think its so so easy and as for your last comment I do not write like a 5 yr old I am a combat vet thank you very much if you doubt that then here I went to Ft Benning for basic training did 14 yrs I was a 11B which means 11 Bravo infantry my first duty station Ft Lewis WA second Ft Drum NY the last two Ft Hood TX and Ft Bliss TX and yes I graduated from high school thank you very much. I hate grammar police thinking they are more holier than thou
That is genuinely commendable, but it changes neither the fact that you're wrong about this nor the fact that you write like a 5-year-old. As someone said earlier in the thread, what you have here is an acute case of gambler's remorse because other people won things and you didn't.
I can understand the annoyance, but ultimately all you can do is build a bridge and get over it.
If you're opening a ton of boxes and not winning then just take the keys you would use to open the boxes and sell them on the exchange . I think ten keys goes for over 60 mil in energy credits. Sell a couple of those packs (between 8 or 9) you could probably clear 400 mil easily to get the connie (if that's what you are going for).
"There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life." - Ten Bears (Will Sampson)
I didn't ask for the grammar police if you don't have anything to say about the subject then don't comment anything I don't need grammar police nor trolls this is a post about honesty and I am being honest on everything I seen so far.
The grammar police went about this the wrong way but they do have a point. Your post is very hard to read due to the lack of grammar. You don't need perfect grammar, far from it. But a little bit to make your post readable would help your point of view. Most people seem to have given up trying to read your post due to how hard it is to read.
400million isn't a lot of money and its not in the realms of credit farmers. In less then 2 hours a week game time I sell 50+million on the exchange. That's around 15mins play time a day. Compared to other MMO's that's not much of a farm.
On a serious note, OP you have no idea how much some people with way too much disposable income are willing to spend on this game. Those people buying stacks of lockboxes and getting heaps of ships are probably throwing 1000's of £/€/$ into the game each month. I don't think price is an issue for them, so they will just buy, buy, buy. They are the fools here really, spending so much on a computer game where everything can be earned for free with a small amount of playtime, so don't get so wound up when they win(buy) some prizes. At least be satisfied that you are not so vain that you feel the impulse to spend a bazillion £'s on the game just to have the latest toy.

Entirely logical and surely the best way to guarantee yourself the ship of your dreams for the lowest possible payout - sure you COULD hit a Connie/Vengeance with just one of those keys, but the odds are very much against you. With the method suggested here it's simple mathematics and a 100% success rate.
and in order to do that they sell these ships on the exchange
Ya know. You really don't know what you're talking about. There's some people that were EC rich over night when the crafting system was changed in the game because they were smart enough to see a way to make a whole lot of EC when it happened. And those guys are some of the ones that buy and sell the ships on the exchange. In fact, the ship selling community is pretty close and if someone steps out of line and does something shady, they tend to get called out as scammers etc for everyone to see. There was someone selling stuff for rl cash at one point and they were basically run out of the game.
I'm going to ask you again where your proof is. An "honest" person doesn't typically go around saying other are cheating the system unless they can back it up with real proof.
look I do have some T6 ships from the Z store not all of them about maybe 50 to 75% of them and ya I get the 1000 day reward ship and its T6 counterpart but these ships and the 1000 day reward ships on both regular and T6 are really c.r.a.p. none of these ships can compare to a lock box ship they just cant and yes I have a few of the holiday ships from the Christmas events even they suck compared to a lock box ship ive been a lifer since day one ever since I did beta and all I get is a crappy T6 version of the 1000 day reward ship that can't do anything like a lock box ship can.

Maybe you're just not using them correctly?
Sure, the Chimera and Manticore aren't the greatest ships in STO history, but they are by no means TRIBBLE if set up properly. Same applies for C-Store ships - to imply that none of the 50-75% of C-Store ships you claim to own can compete with something from a lockbox is just so ludicrously wrong as to be hilarious.

Yeah, I have no idea what all that means. But, from that first sentence, I'm getting you don't have 400 mil to spend, therefore went the gambling route, in hopes of better luck, and the latter didn't exactly work out. Right? Honestly, that is rarely a good idea, unless you can afford to take the likely loss (in EvE Online we used to say: "Don't fly what you can't afford to lose."). If you go the gambling route, and you lose, you just get very upset. Q.E.D.

Yep, now I'm going into my T5 Vesta and will do 100k DPS in HSE through tears, because my poor ship is so TRIBBLE and can't do anything a lockbox ship can.
I have been playing close to almost 7 yrs since this game first came out and I had some fun and some good times but ever since these lock boxes came out I have yet to win a single ship all I get out of these boxes are **** and more **** and don't say its luck either cause as of today and the day before there is a certain player that keeps winning these ships like no tomorrow he has won 7 T6 connies and the kelvin dreadnought in a span of 10 mins and don't say its luck cause it s not I know that there is a exploit on these boxes and its BS and not fair to honest players like me that want one of these ships and don't say GET ONE FROM THE EXCHANGE BS either cause the ones that are winning multiple ships are the credit farmers that put them up at 400mill EC plus I have over damn near 30 toons and I have yet to even come close to that mark of EC I get it you guys going to say that there are other T6 ships in the Z store granted they are good ships and all and granted I have almost all the ships from the Z store not all but about half and yes I do get the 1000 day reward ship and its T6 counter part but all these ships are just **** compared to the T6 connie and the kelvin dreadnought and further more if these so called 1000 day reward ships are so great including the T6 version of it why isn't way better than any ship in the game why are they so crappy compared to other T6 ships and yes I did beta testing and then some it would be nice and or fair to EVERYONE to get something good out of those lock boxes besides BS junk but no instead its the credit farmers and the exploiters that get these ships over and over again while players like me that try to get one can't get one and the fact that they put them on the exchange at BS prices.
You sure aren't the first one to start a fuss over lockboxes... And to this, i answer the same thing again and again : you are better off not trusting any statistics or odds regarding this. You can either be lucky and get a T6 Ultra-rare ship on your first try, or open 500+ of these lockboxes without getting even a T5 blue Mirror Universe ship.
I am myself neither a farmer nor an exploiter (and for that matter, i have no idea what that exploit could be), and yet in my three years of playing STO, i got a S'Golth Escort, a Vonph Dreadnought, a Quas Cruiser, a Tarantula Dreadnought and a Narcine Dreadnought. All these from lockboxes and not from the Exchange.
You are no more prejudiced than anyone else on STO, i believe. It's just that a gamble is a gamble.

I have myself many T6 ships from the Lobi store and the Zen store, and they perform just as well as lockbox ships... The Pilot Escort from the Zen store sometimes even outperforms the Vonph in PvE. It is just a matter of build.
There are a lot of lockbox ships with terrible layouts, then there are some with good layouts. There are also plenty of non-lockbox ships with great layouts.
Those people buying stacks of lockboxes and getting heaps of ships are probably throwing 1000's of £/€/$ into the game each month. I don't think price is an issue for them, so they will just buy, buy, buy.
They don't just spend real money. They have billions of EC already from selling so much of the stuff they win. So they start buying up exchange keys when the price is lower (like it is now) in order to feed their "addiction". There's this one guy who will just open 100s of boxes in minutes and you see is name flash across the screen many times and he's always looking to buy keys at a good price.
look I have been playing since beta I was a beta tester at one point then became a lifer the very fist day that this game went live and trust me I know how to build a ship to the point I am hitting at least 65 to 70k DPS and then some but I know that these ships can't even compare to the lock box ships cause they are way better that the 1000 day ship and it T6 counterpart the 1000 day ship just can't cut it including the T6 version in this new storyline if cryptic/pe would make a decent ship that can be gained for the vets in this game I wouldn't feel like I've been cheated out on cause I put countless hours and days on the test server and in the game just to get shafted is just not right

TR I think my suggestion is the way to go . Saves you from raging about the bad luck you have been having. Believe me there are alot of theories why some players seem to hit the prizes on the lockboxes. But honestly alot of those theories are total hogwash. Just a few players have real life money to burn so they can blow a couple of thousands on keys.
You got "gamblers remorse" and it can happen to anybody whether its one bet or a hundred. Just whatever you do stay away from Las Vegas and Atlantic City, you'll go nuts if you went there.

I think I opened about 30 boxes in STO. I got one purple DOff which sold over 1M EC (at a time that Master keys were 1,5M each). Other than that I never made even half the value of a Master key (only ever got them from exchange) from a LB. I never got more than 5 Lobi out of one box.
I know some Players who "Play the Exchange" whenever a new LB Comes out - buying keys beforehand and selling new stuff quickly - they seem to make Profit (or at least Claim to), but I never have.
I understand the Frustration of OP. If there were a way to improve your chances maybe I'd give LB another Chance

Are you truly saying you think all none of the c-store ships or veteran ships or event ships are as good as a lockbox ship?!?? What planet are you living on in your entitled crazy dream? ANY SHIP can be as good as or better than any other ship, it's the pilot that's the most important followed by the built of the ship. To say that lockbox ships are the ultimate is utter drivel, they are good but not the best for every situation. Just look how many of the best players still fly their rusty old T5U's because they work best.

Let me add short list of ships that are generally regarded as best in game...
For DPS - T6 Scimitar
For tanking - T6 Science Odyssey
For science magic - Eternal
For torpedoes - Manticore
See a common pattern here? NONE of those are lockbox vessels. Hell, last one I named is the same veteran ship you are crying about.
Its almost like if you didnt ignore everyone who tries to explain this to you in zone chat, you wouldn't need to make a thread like this.
Just a thought.
Calm down pls.
Think we had trolls in STO a few years ago but they all left game in 2010.
Don’t give that much about the chat.
If you like the Kelvin timeline Constitution try to save EC by selling crafting materials or items (thats how I got it). If you are willing to spend RL money just buy keys and sell them for EC for the ship. Think current cost in the other thread have been pointed out as 47$ or so.
