QoL Improvements

gizmox64gizmox64 Member Posts: 322 Arc User
Could use some more QoL improvement updates Devs.

Here are some to address:

-Use same UI positions and keybinds across all toons.
-Add option to Lock UI windows and popups so they can not be moved (lots of missed scroll bars)
-Allow F12 to move mission NPC / Boff text, the ones that popup on left of screen, to be moved.
-Remember Size and Location of reward box popups, as it resets every time. (Mark reward boxes are so small, but the list is so long)

-Organize Reputation marks in alphabetical order (the list in the inventory tab)
-Organize Reputation in alphabetical order (the list in the Reputation tab)
-Standardize Reputation Project Lists across all reps, Hourly, Daily, Ground, Space, Misc... (many reps switch the daily and hourly projects)

-Hide Reputation project details, like Doffing, where it only shows the Project Name, Requirements & Rewards, with a drop down to expand the text if you like.

-Rename Reputation 8472 Counter-Command to Undine (just like the marks)
-Add a "Complete" Tab for Admiralty (like Doffing)
-Sort Ships in ZEN store by Federation, Romulan, Klingon, Purchased, Unpurchased.
-Remember Zoom position for Missions and Sector space.
-Put battle cloak in the Special Skill bar.
-Selling or mailing stacks of items, don't ask how many, always to the whole stack, I can split it if I want to.

-Inventory Replicator sales list should hide all R&D items, and put first tab items first. (this would fix the issue of selling in the replicator, scrolling way down to the items to sell, start the double clicking, and the list shifts causing R&D items to be sold by accident)

-Allow Teams in all story missions. *Edited

-Allow all players in a mission to view interactions together, either triggered by team leader, or just a popup, as it is now, only one player can interact with NPCs most of the time, while the other teammates just have to stand there.

-Auto Share a mission in a team, I've been able to interact with all mission objectives, doors, etc, but in the end, no reward because never had the mission, but some one in my team did.

-Make Ship Load-outs remember all Traits, as Doomsday Device, Temporal Ambassador, and other missions load you into a new ship, or make you another toon (klingon halogram) and all my traits get removed, even during the mission they get removed.

Running in to all these as I play threw the game with my AoY toon.
Please add any you've experienced.

Theres a reason the game allows different keybinds for different characters.

If you really want to use the same keybinds on all characters just use LoadUI.

Single player missions are fun and enjoyable and getting rid of them would mean many people would simply leave the game. People don't ALWAYS want to deal with someone elses TRIBBLE. sometimes people want to play alone and that's ok.

I'm not even going to begin to address how terrible some of these ideas are...

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

Wow fast post, I litertly just posted it.
Last I knew Load UI did NOT load all custom keybinds for space and ground.
Have to use the /bind_load_file ground.txt and space.txt

Get rid of Single (solo) player only missions, this is an MMO afterall.

Not sure if serious or trolling.

    How about no.

Rephrase the statement, is that better?
  • gradiigradii Member Posts: 2,824 Arc User
Perhaps then suggest that LoadUI be made to load all keybinds as well? Many people have different builds which require different keybinds on different characters.

If you're looking for suggestions, I'd love a checkbox option to protect doffs from being donated to fleet projects. So many R&D specialists assigned to the fleet base... :'(

Or even just have them show up marked as R&D when you go to donate them. We've been asking for this since the new R&D launched so it will probably never happen.

    Aye. True, true.

    - Get rid of the Dyson Rep Commendations turn in mission and get rid of the Nukara Turn in Equipment Projects.
    - Add the ability to auto-slot Admiralty ships just like doffing.

I ave different layout and keybinds per character, as my Fed, Rom, and Klingon character's ships have different layouts, and the Boff seating takes up varying amounts of space on the game screen. I need them all separate per character so I can customize them all based on their layouts.

How about no, they should be displayed in chronological order, as that makes the most sense.

I'm all for chronological order as well, but as it stands now, they are not in any order. Inventory list does not match reputation list, having consistency is key.

You tell me to use LoadUI for keybinds, which it does not do.
Then you say well I should suggest that LoadUI to load keybinds.
But either way your against it, even though it would be optional.

I'd like to see a Load Keybinds button somewhere in the key set UI.

Consistent slider bars - some do not have the end arrows to allow single increments.

Tier 5 Undine, Delta and Iconian Reps give out 5 of the 'Elite' Marks

Omega Rep Space Equipment costs 750 Marks, 32,500 Dilithium like everyone else.

Dyson Costume Unlock is the same cost as every other Rep - 5 and not 150 (not sure they haven't already corrected this, though).

If the Space or Ground Trays are locked, respect it and stop trying to add new items into fill-in spots.

    .5 and above rounds UP

Items being processed when a timer expires is counted (like the Winter Event Pie Eating and not the Epohh Tags).

Food and Drink bought in stacks.

Consumables stack to 100 (Batteries, Shield Charges, Hypos, etc).

Stop moving around the Trivial Notice Buttons.

Personnel Space Trait to reduce the Cooldown of Red Alerts to seven seconds.

Ship and Ground Sensor scans actually look for objectives and not just Resource Nodes.

Remove the Dialog Boxes of the Controller when entering orbit. Just give the options.

Consistent Beam up selections. If I can beam up to Sector Space from the Academies then I should be able to do so from the 'Capitals'.

Change how the damage reduction of torpedoes are calculated against shielded targets. Thing like making the damage reduction (70-75% torpedo/kinetic damage reduction if a shield facing is impacted and is still up.) that is applied by having a shield facing still online, even if it is only one Shield hit-point, change from the current static reduction rate to a more dynamic rate (such as that as the Hp of your shield's are reduced the reduction is reduced as well down to a minimum of 10-15% ). Also I would say making the power levels of you have set influence things more an important, kinda like how weapon power is very important though the other power su-systems are less so, a good change for this could be that the higher your shield sub-system power is influences the amount of kinetic-damage reduction is lost as your shield's hit-points are lost. Both of these would be nice Qol changes that would make torpedoes more viable an interesting to use than they currently are.

I am all for the consistency options (Nukara/Romulus marks are in a different order when choosing lockboxes from the order they are in on the reputation tab from the order they are in on your mark overview in inventory) or 20h/1h projects in rep (rename them if necessary). Also some optionals would be great, like the option to address keybind issues. The "add abilities to tray" bug is also annoying.

What I would like to add is:
When buying items which come in boxes, show which ones you already have unboxed (like e. g. event clothing). Ability to rebuy (and donate to other characters) them should stay, but if I want a complete set I don't want to go through the tailor lists.

Tailor: add an "all" option for all available clothings next to, say, the different types of trousers. Would be long, but sometimes I just don't remember if they were tight or loose ot tucked.

Wouldn't really call that QoL, since it affects actual gameplay.

A consistent color palette for everyone. I have some crews wearing the same outfit as the rest of the crew yet I can't get the colors to match up. And jumping between the 10 line palette and ~20 line one for different parts of the same uniform has got to go.

    Nice ones!

Change Traits on Bridge, as long as you are not in a mission. (I spend a lot of time on my Nandi, quing PvEs, exchange, bank, mail, Dabo, etc (needs a tailor) but can't change out traits)

Make the Interaction button popup consistent in what it lists. (On Risa especially, beam to resort is on top, but gets bumped down when the race is happening. Always available options should remain static, and variable options listed at the bottom)

Allow typing in the amount you want to split a stack instead of only using a slider, just like the mail to box. (Lohlunate Favors are the worst to try to split to just 1 unit, to give to alts to unlock stores, having a + or - or text entry would be helpful)

Stack Seasonal items to 1000 instead of 999. (probably a game engine limitation)

Unlock Summer and Winter store access to all new toons. (want my ice boots cause the Coliseum is coming)

Increase text size of rewards for TRIBBLE. (have to mouse over the little icon to see what the value is for Exp)

Overhaul to the EC Exchange. (see RIFT, or ESO with Master Merchant + Awesome Guild Stores)

Probably not possible, but utilize an Addon system, like WoW, ESO, RIFT, etc, which allows UI and many many QoL only modifications that the community could create, leaving Devs to fix bugs and make new content. ESO would be almost unplayable with out it's UI addon system.

    Remember scroll location when doffing.
Have Completed Admiralty move list to top, like Doffing.
Sort Doffing missions by shortest Time.

Have EV Suits go OVER armor in a new slot just for EV suits. (Hate breaking ground sets because of a mission wants you in some dumb ev suit, where my MACO armor with helm should be doing what an EV suit does anyway)

Account Bank contents "pullable" by all toons for Doffing, etc.

Total revamp on Star Base, Mine, etc loading screens and loading points. (almost always constant Server Not Responding, and just un-needed load screens.)
