New Trek Series: Conjecture & Wishful Thinking

gawainviiigawainviii Member Posts: 328 Arc User
If, as rumor has it, the new series is going to be an Anthology series... What I would like to see happen is:
Season 1: Earth-Romulan War (Enterprise season 5) -- Late 22d C
Season 2: Federation Klingon War (Axanar story) -- Early 23d C
Season 3: Phase II (between TMP and TWOK) -- 2270s
Season 4: Cardassian Border Wars (post TUC, pre TNG) -- Early 24th C
Season 5: STO Storyline (Not all of it, but definitely start with Vega Colony, and go through Klingon and Romulan arcs) -- 25th C

A pipedream, I know... but this would REALLY fill in a LOT of gaps in Trek lore.

Anyways, this is what I would like to see... What about y'all?

Nope, the anthology rumor has been scotched by showrunners, as well as the rumor it'd be set between TUC and TNG.

They've squashed just about every rumor out there...

So, we don't really have a fracking clue what the new show will be about yet.

We know it invovles a Chair and that it will in fact involve both a Captian qnd crew ;p .

We also know the writers and one director.

We've also learned that the series is entitled "Star Trek: Discovery" and that the title ship, U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031, is going to use one of the rejected triangle-hull designs from the abandoned 1970s Phase II series.

Well, a modified version - it's not the enormous, one-deck-thick triangular slab McQuarrie came up with, but rather a sort of modified delta-wing design three or four decks thick, with most of the aft section being impulse engines.

Also the hull looks to be a bit more bronze than typical Starfleet grey.

Pure conjecture... but the 4-digit NCC, and the overall appearance of the ship's exterior (deflector, nacelles, etc.) make me think that Discovery is likely going to be set in the 2270s--roughly where "Phase II" was going to be, i.e. TMP-era.
