Here's a question then; would you be willing to have sto go back to subscription based format IF they did a total engine swap like EVE did way back when?

We should start a petition to do this. I would literally resub and stay subbed if they did this.

I really hope the fps issues get sorted. I have a GTX 970 and an AMD-FX 6350. I have no problem running recent games at 60fps with high graphic settings but STO will sometimes crawl at 10 fps in the middle of an STF. It's still playable but it's hard to steer a ship or feel immersed in a battle. Even moving the camera to become aware of the environment can be difficult. What's strange is turning the graphics right down makes very little if no difference to the performance of the game. If the fps get's any worse I'm not sure I'm going to be able to continue playing which is a real shame because I enjoy this game immensely. For me getting the fps sorted is more important then getting any new content or ships in the game.

Well, here is to some hope that the prolonged FPS issues are corrected.

STO was always the worst performing game for me, and the graphics utilized are bad and cartoony for a modern game. Doesn't add up why there would be so much FPS issues with lower quality graphics.
Retired. I'm now in search for that perfect space anomaly.

Some AMD users haven't been able to use DX11 for a year now. Shows how much attention things like this get.
Really? I running an older AMD A8 Vision based laptop and have no problem running DX11. Running win10 and befroe that win8.1 as well maybe thats why I can run it. The only time I had to go to a lower build of DX was when the Dyson EVA mission first came out.
I did have on occasions FPS issues until I went up to a 156MPS internet cable hookup coincedence maybe. I do make sure I have nothing running in the background. I bet some folks with fps issues are multitasking. I know of a person that does that and is always bitching about FPS and lag and blaming Cryptic for his issues.

Yes really, ask 290 and 390 owners like myself. They are having problems. It's the new equipment that is suffering.

I do recall some of the radeon drivers were borked for Win10. I thought they had fixed them by now.
I have the built in HD 7640G. So maybe I am immune if you will from the issues newer cards have.
