The next arc seems to be a Mirror Universe based one.
Anyone else kinda dissapointed it isn't a arc based on some Alpha Quad species like the Cardassians, or Ferengi, or something else?

(I'm still hoping it's Wesley Crusher. We'll see.)
He was the leader of the Terran Empire's invasion in the old Cardassian arc. he died / went MIA when we blew up the I.S.S. Molly.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

'Starfleet is not a military organisation. Its purpose is exploration.' Picard: Peak Performance
'This is clearly a military operation. Is that what we are now? Because I thought we were explorers!' Scotty: Into Darkness
'...The Federation. Starfleet. We're not a military agency.' Scotty: Beyond
'I'm not a soldier anymore. I'm an engineer.' Miles O'Brien: Empok Nor

A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Back t'mill
I would be willing to fight her for the position. Graeco-Roman wrestling is in order I think.

You and I have very different definitions of "interesting". Star Trek aliens are almost universally flat cardboard cutout exaggerations of this or that human trait. They rarely even rise to the level of funhouse mirrors, the distortions are so trivial. Even the Iconians didn't actually do ANYTHING weird or incomprehensibly alien. Just petulant revenge driven jerks. How... ordinary.
If you're going to have a level of 'depth' in your sci-fi where I can dip my pinky in it and touch the bottom without getting the first knuckle wet, then to me you might as well use human villains in the first place.
The Mirror Universe is at least unapologetic that the awfulness being displayed is perfectly ordinary HUMAN AWFULNESS.
And more than any clash with an ill-tempered alien society, its a chance for the Federation to actually Be the Better People. To score a win that is just and noble and not just desperate and underhanded. Because They've been getting painted with that brush far too much lately. And that's a contrast the Mirror Universe can provide more elegantly than any alien threat.
Why?
Because if you sit and actually listen to her, she sounds like she is having a blast playing her evil counterpart. Which, to me, is pure win.
Now, when you compare that to Denise Crosby (Sela) and her "storybook" style of VO work...
Yeah, give me more Mirror missions to foil Leeta's machinations...
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
What about being the Mirror version torturing your character for various reasons?
How would they explain that in the story? Your character has an eerie out of body experience as somoene else?
then afterwards you could be all shocked dealing with the memory of yourself being evil and torturing your real self which is you- none of that makes sense but it would be interesting.

tried using time travel as a weapon, you know the same thing we just stopped some else from doing cause it's bad and insane. which wasn't stopped by the feds changing their minds but by a klingon, depending on your character there could be no feds on site to change their minds. helped to kobali stop the vaadwaur from freeing their people. started using cloaks on a semi regular basis, and treaty breaking about cloaks after all romluns still exist even if they are in no position to press the matter. let the tholians kill the na'kuhl's star for reason. oh and pressganged the ToS captain into a war he shouldn't have been alive to be a part of. assume that last mission would have killed them otherwise.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
"Emperor Tovan Khev"
"Emperor Tovan Khev"
"Emperor Tovan Khev"
Now you see why they made him un-dismissable.
We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!

An Orb experience, either on DS9 or Bajor?
