The JJ Prize is one big beautiful MoeFo! Im envious

doubleohninedoubleohnine Member Posts: 818 Arc User
Still not gambling for it though. Ok, maybe I'll throw like $5 at it. Was just in a Tholian invasion, and that beauty came from behind me, all majestic and bada$$, me and my bridge officers starred at the viewscreen with mouths open looking at the size of her, she was twice as big as my Vesta, and a tad bigger. At least she's Tier 6 sized. Dayum. Then moments later a Vengeance was in a Borg Red Alert and that ship was big too, but UGLY. If you strike gold with a JJ Prize, youre damn lucky, that ship is a beauty.

Just one small problem, Ive played the Level 60 mission, and a few AoY missions with the new toon, and havnt got even ONE lockbox drop. Whats that about? You use to be swimming in them.

Oh, and Im not playing any more AoY until the bug is fixed where I cant hear my own ground weapons firing from my captain, can only hear my BO and enemy weapons firing around me. Totally killing my enjoyment of the new content when I cant hear my own TOS rifle firing its unique sound.

Its a beautiful delicate thing which falls apart at the first sign of danger. Just watch the movies it comes from.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

I generally ignore lockboxes, I think of them as a scam, but for some reason I don't quite understand I just went against my better judgment and opened an obscene number of boxes. I now have 1,363 lobi, and no T6 Constitution ... connie is going for 300 mil more ec on the exchange than the dreadnaught so I guess trading is out of the question too ...

They did a real good job on the AR Connie, I'm actually quite impressed with the attention to detail on all the Kelvin Timeline ships.

I'm just happy that the Vengeance ended up being the Lobi ship and not the Grand Prize, otherwise it would have been well out of reach for me since RnG hates me. :)

I'm wondering if the 'hype' on this ship will ever die down, or if it will hold steady at 680M+ for the foreseeable future. Keys are around 6M a pop right now, so you would have to spend a pretty penny to get it. I paid 305M for my Vengeance and honestly, it was the best EC I ever spent.

The attention to detail on these ships is truly impressive. They did a great job.

Found a JJ Prize and Vengeance next to each other at ESD. At first I thought the JJ Prize was too big, but then I see its scaled pretty good against the Vengeance, which is just one HUGE beast. Heres a few screenshots with my Odyssey up next to them. I talked to the guy in the JJ Prize and he said he got it on the FIRST Lockbox! :/ He says he has 120 keys left andhe just put them on the exchange, expecting it to cost him so much more. Glad SOMEONE got the better of Cryptic. I too went against my good judgement and gambled more than I ever have in this game. I had put $50 into the game on that Zen sale a few days before, foolishly thinking the JJ Prize would be in the C Store. Well, I wound up opening 25 boxes, and just stopped. I used the rest of my money on increasing the EC limit, a few R&D boxes, and the rest selling keys on the exchange, making 5.6 - 5.9 mil per key the past few days. The Connie is going for 600 mil on the exchange last I looked. At current key prices, about $120. I dont love that ship THAT much.

I'll consider the amount of money I've spent on NOT getting a connie as being what I get for pulling the JSS out of the first pack I opened when they first released it.

Thanks for the offer. I just went and bought them for 6-9k each on the exchange, only bought 25, Im good now. No more gambling for me. I promised myself if I couldnt get the JJ prize for less than $30, it wasnt meant to be.

It's definitely a good call to set a limit beforehand.

I also do believe we'll see a TOS T6 Connie in some extreme-jump-through-hoops form starting either on the anniversary or around the time the new series airs.

Yes, she is quite beautiful... especially when in the middle of a huge-TRIBBLE brawl. She is a VERY capable combat ship, what with the LtCmdr Tac slot. However, although I've been running mine as a "get in close and dish it out" build, she's also a highly capable support ship.
Personal suggestions based off of my experiences:
    1. If you get the opportunity to get this ship, GET IT. Even if you find it absolutely fugly, the sheer effectiveness far outweighs the looks. It could be a brick, and I'd love it no less.
    2. The LtCmdr Universal slot is a huge plus. I'm running a science officer there, freeing up the hybrid Lt. Temporal/Sci seat for purely temporal skills.
    3. The Temporal slot... Although it seems to be rather restricted to entropy-generating skills (haven't looked in too much detail yet), that could be totally fine. If set up as a support ship, I'd suggest pairing off with a dedicated T6 Temporal ship (either 26th or 31st Century, either works), and let them be the one to run the entropy-using skills. Personally, I'd pair with one of the escort/raider ships, as they can let you pull aggro off them and help keep them from betting too badly beaten down, and they help soften up the target and use that full Temporal seat to wreak some serious havoc.
    My guide to internet survival:

NEVER argue with trolls, drunks, idiots, or conspiracy nuts. They'll just drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

this is what rabid fanboyism looks like.

i own the ship. i love the ship. not because it performs great, but because its eye candy. its an end game connie.

i own a dozen others ships that cost alot less and perform better.

if you want performance, its not worth the price tag. if you want eye candy thats another story.

but either way all of what you just wroteis just you trying to justify the price tag to yourself.

its a cool ship, but its not even close to one of the best.
