Am I the only one who thinks there is a difference between the image we were show of the Vengeance yesterday and the new ones from today? It looked pretty smooth and sleek yesterday, but todays images look rough, like the texture is bugged or the graphics are on a lower setting or something.
Its weird, and I don't know why its bothering me as much as it does, but the ship just doesn't look...right, does anyone else get what I'm talking about?

They won't even hit the exchange..folks will be selling straight in trade channels
This is going to be proven as incorrect.
I am really shocked at how little people understand about supply and demand. If there are a bunch of excess ships, the prices will be low. If there aren't, they will be high. When the ships are cool more people open boxes, and hence are more likely to get ships, and either sell them or use them and not buy them on the exchange, either of which actually lowers the price.
It might be a bit too powerful, for a carrier that is. Lol. I have my doubts though, it's power bonuses seem kinda mismatched for any real tactical powerhouse. It's Lt. Com. universal seat could give it some real tac capabilities, which would make the ship quite versatile.
Full Intel abilities does raise an eyebrow for me, only the specialist starships from the C-Store had the specialist abilities on them. I'm hoping this won't be a continuing trend for Lockbox/Lobi ships as it would devalue past ships... Which, admittedly, would be a good financial move for Cryptic as people would look to 'upgrade' their past ships with newer, more powerful ones. Darn.
Still, for the first 'true' Romulan carrier, this one is quite respectable. I might be inclined to get one (or more) for my Romulan characters. Might take a while, though, as I don't usually purchase lockbox/lobi ships, and I do enjoy using my command warbirds! lol.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It looks less black, like the Avenger, and now looks kinda grey-ish with black highlights. I hope we can change this.
Each of the lockbox ship consoles say they can be equipped on ANY ship in any console slot, but the Vengeance console says any Kelvin Timeline ship. Are either of those typos or can we really put these lockbox consoles on ANY ship?
That is a blog issue. The Vengeance console is also any ship.

They are all Universal consoles, unrestricted by class. The Vengeance's console can also be slotted on any ship, any slot. I've requested the blog be updated to reflect this.

If they made a Romulan carrier for the C-store nobody would've bought it. They'd have been lucky to recoup production costs. This way they can make it without risking their money because the box will profit one way or another. It was likely still the most expensive box they've ever made though with all those art assets and three different ships.
If you have two brain cells to rub together and buy directly from the exchange you'll find lockbox ships are actually pretty affordable.
Can other fed ships use the jj-prise bridge if you have that ship?
Unlikely. Lockbox bridges are usually unique to their ship.
Lockbox ships are also usually from a non-playable alien faction, so I figured there's going to be people that will be asking this question since these lockbox ships are faction specific, just from an alternate universe
I think they're using the same mental gymnastics as the temporal ships from the first temporal lockbox, where they're faction specific ships, but because they're from another timeline/universe/reality/whatever it doesn't count as faction-specific because shut up that's why.
Cryptic and consistency do not go hand in hand....

Mental Gymnastics indeed. Sad, because if I could use these bridges on another ship, even if it meant I had to own the lockbox ship, I'd actually be interested in getting said lockbox ship.

so what's the damn price on the vengeance ??? it not being in the post makes me think it's gonna be 1000 lobi instead of the "normal" 900... Nuts... if you have to start from 0 lobi to get this one.... just nuts...

900 Lobi is around 200 boxes. It may be a nice ship, but asking people to fork out more than $200 (once the same ends) for it would push limits on even the biggest whale.
If only we'd just had a simultaneous Zeni sale and key sale...
It takes about 180 keys to amass 900 lobi (the minimum is 4 per box but the average tend strongly towards 5 per box with a sample size over 100).
Ten packs of keys were 900 zeni
so 16200 zeni, then with the 15% bonus and the bonus on buying at least $100 (12500 zeni) you could have done it for ~$132
Plus EVERYTHING YOU GET FROM OPENING 180 Infintiy/Nakuhl/KT lock boxes.
No one could have predicted this.
Sample sets much larger than that (1000+) put the lobi per box at very close to 4.5, which is where the 200 box figure thrown around comes from. So just add a bit to everything else you said and that's about as good as you get for that statement.
If they made a Romulan carrier for the C-store nobody would've bought it.
No one? No one at all? Not a single person? I find that statement a real stretch.....
Yeah - "no one" is a bit of a stretch; but their have been KDF C-Store ships that Devs claim have/had sold less then say 20 units <--- And that's virtually zero for an MMO with the general Playerbase size STO has had over the years.

I'm interested in a dev blog that talks about the art development behind the T'Laru. I'm insanely curious about the whole story behind it.
I completely agree there. As the one original ship of the bunch it certainly stands out, not to mention it being the first romulan carrier.
Probably going to be finding a way to get one of them when the prices drop, carriers are one of my favorite aspects of this game and I strongly prefer romulan ship aesthetics over those of the other factions. Kind of disappointed that there still isn't a romulan carrier in the c-store, but at least this way I can get one for one of my captains anyway. (besides I don't expect any full intel ships to show up in the c-store and a full intel carrier has interesting potential, not to mention the temporal seat)

^ I must admit, that gave me a good giggle. Thanks!

900 would be my guess unless they are upping the ante on this one.
Assuming an average of 5m per key, that's going to be 80-100 keys. At 1125 per pack of 10 keys, that's 9000 to 11250 zen.
Not an account-wide unlock. The only faction-specific ships of this expansion for Rom/KDF.
"Affordable."
Lmao.
