[VIDEO] Counterpoint Elite - only T2 Science Vessels

tunebreakertunebreaker Member Posts: 1,222 Arc User
The Science Channel, alongside the most known Nova/Rhode Island fan from the forums, decided to try doing CPE in only T2 vessels. And even though we died quite a lot, we had no problems completing it.

Music requested by mmps1, Flash Gordon fits surprisingly well :D

That was a truly brutal run I have to admit, but epic good fun all the same. I actually enjoyed it way more than in a T6 vessel, much more challenging if you like to be tortured!

Agree to all use the mirror skin next run and call it invasion of the mirror universe.

It would also be nice to see a full Nebula run.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Haven't gotten around to joining the science channel yet, but if you folks want to do a Nebula run (T3 or T5U) I'm game.

Sadly I haven't got a Nebula and with current ZEN prices on dil exchange, I doubt I will buy one anywhere soon.

Didn't realise it was being recorded!

I admit that I did complain a little during that run; it felt VERY odd to me - I pretty much never use anything other than my FT5-U Rhode Island. So to be using an identical ship, without access to the assortment of options that my FT5-U version has, was actually pretty confusing at times!

Need to work on that ship's build too - I threw something together at short notice for that run; would be nice to have another crack it using something akin to what my endgame version uses.

Still, was a good run and I'd be up for doing it again if a repeat run was organised.
I thought I told you I'll make a video? Anyhow, I have to admit I missed the features of my Vesta as well, especially GW. :D

The nebula have been give away ships in previous years so i assumed the vast majority has access to them.

    Do it with t1 next!

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

I have an Oberth and the free Nebula.

I haven't joined the sci channel yet either and usually don't do STFs, though.

Oh yeah, epic vid though :D

Not sure how you managed the Elite version in T2s, but it sure looks great!

Would definitely be willing to take part in an all-Nebula run at something, though I'm built for crowd control/support....

in that specific stf it is simple - all you really have to do to not fail is to close 5 portals and taxi 15 assault teams.....

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

This proves that The Science Channel members are mad.

    Well done guys!

We did an advanced run in T1's as a test and it was doable but the extra damage incoming from the enemy would be seriously hard to survive on elite with a mere T1 ship.

When dropping off assault teams at TN the fire coming at you with shields down nearly takes 70% of your hull off. With invincibility it would be OK, or the iconian shields maybe.

I'll tell you the tractor beams were murder. Forgot to slot pilot so I had no real escape
  • tunebreakertunebreaker Member Posts: 1,222 Arc User
Yeah, T1 might get tough in terms of HP. All that stuff can potentially hit very hard and as you could see, it was complicated to survive all the time even in T2. While I can't promise a video about it, one day I will certainly try to get team together to at least try T1-ing this :D

Oh and that advanced T1 run we were a man down weren't we? So it's not really a perfect example.
