Autofire issues, gamepad woes, and other stuff

Easy issue first, the gamepads. I use a Saitek P990 (which doesn't really have a suitable replacement as of now) and have access to XB360 and XB1 controllers, which are all affected and I've not changed my keybinds in ages. About the time 11.5 came out, the default for ground shooting and melee seems to have been changed/deleted and even before that, the option to set 2-button combinations has either been removed or is eluding me.
As for the autofire, in space of course, random characters of mine do not properly autofire. Testing by going to Argala (or SB24 for a certain alt), targeting an enemy, pressing Space, clearing target, and slowboating to the nearest enemy. For the most part, the Toggle, never cancels option will not fire until a target is selected, either manually or whenever the enemy decides to shoot me. Rarely, the Maintain option will fire one cycle and stop unless I hold down Space.
Finally, my level 60+ pure Rom cannot open his Chel Grett (because the Nandi cannot properly fire cannons without expensive DOffs he can't use anyway and the Xyfius without being too Tac heavy), Risian Corvette, Plesh Brek, Delta Pack DOff or Hierarchy BOff boxes, use rep TWs, run RAs, complete A Step Between Stars (which needs to be level-matched to 50 during the Dyson portion with its stupidly God-awful build), or visit Nukara or the Solonae Sphere, among other things.
Edit: The warp out nacelle glows for the Dauntless and the Fed CBC (or at least the Presidio) aren't aligned with the nacelles.
