It was stated as the reason why we have the Red Matter Capacitor and Nero's face tattoos. Countdown was a joint enterprise between CBS and Paramount with IDW but Cryptic only has a deal with CBS (at the moment), but as Countdown is jointly owned and was a promotion for both CBS and Paramount Cryptic was able to join in the cross promotion for 09.
When was this stated? By whom?
I have no idea. You do realise that any post ever made from over a year ago is now by Archived Post right? Cryptic's licence has been explained in the terms I've mentioned, but if you want to find the specifics that's on you.

The Kelvin and the Franklin predate the temporal incursion by Nero, so they're meant to be Prime Universe ships.
Meant to, but can't be as explained here. There's a bit of controversy around when exactly the universes developed differently. Having the Narada incident be the divergent point however makes actually no sense based on the facts - the "Kelvin timeline" as STO calls is has to be entirely different quantum reality with a uniqe past, present and, logically, future.
While all true, STO's own chart explaining the divergent timelines had the universe branch off into two separate realities once the Narada traveled back in time. Up to that point Cryptic suggests that both the prime and alternate realities shared the exact same past up to 2233.04:

From an in-game perspective it doesn't really have to make much sense, since STO is a hodge-podge of alternate ideas anyway.
This is also true, unfortunately. STO probably uses the official explanation which is also given in 09, but that just doesn't make sense but as you said, STO doesn't require rhyme or reason, ultimately.

My headcanon is that Enterprise was a sort of divergence point. It didn't exist in Star Trek until Picard mucked with the timeline to stop the Borg in First Contact. Then Enterprise sprang into existence. The Prime Universe followed a similar track due to temporal intertia in spite of the changes introduced by Enterprise. The Alternate Reality that is the JJ-verse followed a slightly different path that was changed even more radically by the arrival of the Narada and the destruction of the Kelvin.

Yeah I had a similar headcanon too, with the reason why no one batted an eyelid at the USS Dauntless NX-01-A on "Voyager" was because the original NX-01 was named Dauntless. The change occurred because Zefram Cochrane saw and knew the name Enterprise in "First Contact", so he somehow got the NX-01 named Enterprise instead, further altering the timeline.
Cryptic have revealed a few things, namely that their license covers CBS' series (but maybe not all of TAS) and all of Paramount's films up to but excluding 09. It also covers CBS owned comics and books but not elements of them owned by other people (Luna, Vesta, NX Refit etc.) and obviously Countdown.
This is derived mainly from the Foundery terms and conditions and bits and pieces said by devs whenever a T6 Vesta thread pops up.
Assuming this is true.... it's years old and apparently it has changed.
I don't think it's a change in Cryptic's relationship with Paramount... I think it's a change in CBS's relationship with Paramount. Namely that the AR is being folded back inot the larger franchise.
I also think the odds of the new TV series being set in this new "quantum reality" where no fan can claim to know more about the setting than the new writers do just jumped to better than 90%...

It has. The deal Paramount has with CBS about the TOS and TNG films is likely being expanded to cover the AR films now.

if they decided to make the jjships. some people like them, and dont want to gamble. other people dont like them and dont want to see them very often in game. so if they decided to make the jj ships which way do you want?
someone on reddit also make poll. it has more of the votes
Neither Cstore or Lockbox - a Special Event Reward for running an event during the 50th anniversary party event. 1 for each faction.
Edit-The "Ferengi" ship is the only potentially cross-faction "factional" ship [irrc], Why would KDF and Romulan Players be flying a T6 JJ Constitution which is about as Factional a ship as there is?
Edit 2 - Also what better way to boost "Metrics" than have the ships available as a limeited time event ship. Plus with the new year round lobi vouchers for lobi if you have the event ship slotted they could still make money on it. Whatever it is it was decided long ago as they stated they have been planning this event for almost 2 yrs.
If a ship is a c-store ship, it cant be rare and desirable because its supply is unlimited at a fixed price.
30€ for me make a ship rare and desirable.
RNG boxes keep ships rare and desirable, and give everyone a chance to get one. They also have the benefit of being tradable in-game.
these boxes are just an other form of scam boxes. how many boxs you must open to have 1 ship??? + the ec price of these ships (from these boxes) are totally insane. And these prices don't make the ships desirables.
Poor players who would come to play at STO, for having a chance to play with the kelvin timeline ships. their joy would be short-lived. hey! dude you have 2 choices:
- open the scam boxes, and be prepared to empty your wallet for nothing
- or grind millions, millions, millions ec if you want one of these ships.
3) Generate revenue so the game doesn't close down
they could earn more money, if all these items/ships/etc would be in the c-store, but not bound to account. It doesn't matter for me, if I must buy 2 or 3 times the same stuff, if I have a chance to buy them.
I really really don't think the Enterprise from the Kelvin timeline should be a T6. Remember this ship has been shredded to pieces every movie! However, none of that timeline really should be T6, we're 150 years ahead!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Shouldn't be but it will be. They've all gone through a refit by the Lobi Crystal Consortium after being brought over to the Prime Universe.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.
You don't speak for me. Not all Trek fans are uber-nerd fanboi cultists. Some of us understand that the phrases "different strokes for different folks" and "IDIC" are closely related.
Lockboxes are in no sense a scam, a scam is a dishonest scheme, where something is misrepresented.
It's a false allegation, a lie, and you shouldn't repeat it.
Not a scam, but they deliberately toy with people's desires to get the JJ ships. In the store everybody could buy them fpr the usual 20-30 bucks, but in a box people pay - on average - much more for them. It's almost sadistic to put the T6 connie in a lock box

Federation ships, Klingon ships, and Romulan ships will be in the C-Store.
There is a chance it will be a reward in the new episode instead, like the episode you can get the Ambassador class ship from, and the KDF equivalent from. I find it unlikely it will be in a lockbox. Though some sort of alternate reality/Kelvin timeline lockbox is possible, it likely won't contain the Federation, Klingon, or Romulan ship(s) from the new movies. Or at least an Agent's of Yesterday lockbox seems more likely.
