This was the scene Saturday as I was switching characters by Qwen's place after a 3min load at 95.51 loaded splash screen. I think there may be a bit of a red line issue...............
I've been leaving my captains up in there ships over night. Beaming in seems to be easy with normal load times. Also. if my Captain is left at the start location, at the boardwalk beam in, load time are closer to normal. 60 to 100 instances there's bound to be some lag, but it needs to be tested
I'd like some of you guys to try this and let me know if this is just my result. If you have a timer, please use it to report actual load times. Thanks.
I did notice that beaming in from my ship was easier. I had moved some to their ships due to crafting some things for another toon, and moving them to their ships so they could use that team bank made swapping between them easier while crafting and stuff.
Then beaming down from the ship took much less time to get back to Risa once I was done.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
Hmm. I picked three Captains and switched 50 times between each of them. All were placed back at the beam down location, and most of those moved smoothly between each other, between 6 to 10 seconds, but about one in ten was still 2 minutes.
Please give this a try and tell me if it works the same for you.
Every now and then it takes much less time to swap toons during the hunt, but it's still longer than it should take. Most of the time it still takes a bit over a minute to swap.
I hope it gets fixed. I think the red laser lines has something to do with it since it wasn't nearly this bad last year. I think the devs need to put a timer on the laser lines after people scan, to make them disappear. And I mean disappear off the map and not hide under it.

Not just on Risa...everywhere. Was getting Closed Map messages this morning. Had to get to places the long way. Klingon/Romulan Embassy wasn't loading...Map Closed. Had to go to New Romulus System, beam down to planet, go to entry and walk in to pull it up.
It's annoying that the winter zoning blues have come to Risa. I noticed right away that there were multiple broken instances with zero people when I beamed in the day before the event started. I think the problem is if you are in one of these instances or get moved to a different instance when you log in the game has a problem. Maybe also you are more likely to be forced into new instances this year.
Yes, going into orbit is a solution, however, then we must change uniform each time. Sure, it's just a click or two, but every day for every character it is also annoying and will not work for the hunt.

5 minutes of "Loading Risa" even if I stay in orbit. I have 4 toons on same account 3 of them parked over dil mines, those run smoothly, when I swich risa is hell of load
One of my 'toons logged into "Instance #49"; I'm still wondering if there is a limit of the number of instances available. Either way, the "instance picker" would have a lot of sorting to do over 50 instances, which may be contributing to the long delay. I can't understand what's so special about the 94% threshold, though...

In previous years, we've had well over 100 instances.
I noticed today, approximately an hour ago, that literally every type of zoning into Risa (beaming down, loading into an instance that was picked for you by the selector, loading into an instance that you had already been in on that character earlier and switching instances manually) was quicker, with basically no hangup on the loading screen except when the instance selector decided to dump me into an instance where a spot had just opened up, and even then it was quicker than it has been in the past few days. I also noticed no red lines when I did get in. Possibly the red lines have been causing the shorter hangup that you get even when loading back into the same instance that you were in when you were on that character last, and the extremely long loading hangups were from that effect being multiplied by the instance selector's seemingly normal delay. I hope that this improvement isn't just due to a lighter load at this time of day, and sticks around through the evening in the United States.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
Check tomorrow's patch notes. They are fixing the excessive load times for Risa.

It did stay nice though the night, which made me very happy. Still a bit long when the game decides that I really want to be in another instance, but manageable. Hopefully tomorrow's maintenance also fixes the automated instance switch hangup.
I was a little premature in declaring the red lines on load in dead, as I saw them many times after that post.

That can't be what's wrong this year

I also noticed that loading times were slightly quicker too. Hopefully there will be a fix in tomorrow that will fix the bug causing the hang-ups.

Yeah for me too. Someone posted the clueless Travolta meme on reddit. Well I'm as clueless as him now...
Waiting for the next patch rofl...
