Intel HD 4000 Graphics crash.

I had this happen to me twice today which was rather odd considering it usually doesn't crash at all for me. I run this game near absolute minimum settings cause some parts of the game don't seem to like my laptop specs.
I have an Intel HD 4000 Graphics card with the very latest driver ( 10.18.10.4425) 8 gigs of RAM, Intel i7-3520m CPU at 2.90Ghz. My operating system is Windows 10 Home 64 bit although this laptop originally came with Windows 8 64 bit installed on it. I wanna say this is a DirectX 11 issue but I can't say for certain. The game just totally locks up and the graphics driver crashes to desktop and then recovers. I have tried swapping to DX9ex to see if that'll help but if there is an issue I'd like to know if anyone else has had this problem on this very graphics card or not or anything related to it.
