Game crashing on first mission of new characters

I have a level 52 Federation chap so it should all be ok.

I have started a Romulan character and whenever I try to do the 'Visit Helix' Mission at the start it crashes to desktop every time; I have verified game files through Steam and Launcher and both 'Normal' start and 'Safemode' and it's the same each time- I had the Romulan started pack so I hope it carries over to a new romulan

I then started a Klingon character and as soon as I've done the tutorial and press F to 'Accept Command' the game once again crashes to desktop.....

HELP!!!!!!!!!

    A fresh Romulan here also and every time I try to do the Helix mission it CTD? What is going on?

    Do you get any error messages when this happens? Best thing to do is open a ticket and explain your situation in detail to customer support.

    I am getting the same issue as both romulan and federation; i've tried doing safe mode, normal and also tried switching basic map instances and nothing has worked.
