Yeah this was strongly hinted at by Geko in his interview with Priority One. The three month rule, as he called it, applies. After three months they have to come up with something new or the numbers are beginning to drop sharply. 11.5 came out in April, so the expansion is gonne be released in the middle of July.
And BTW:
Q: There seems to be a discrepancy in the price in US Dollars and Euro - why?
A: In your conversion, please ensure you are taking VAT into consideration.
That really sucks...July 31st is when Monster Hunter Generations comes out and it looks like the new expansion will be around the same time. I hate having to split time between games!

I already split my time between STO, SWTOR, WoWS and WoT. Welcome to the life of a gamer.

Oh I'll play both its just one of those things where I'll be playing MHG and be thinking "man I could be working on getting those account unlocks" and if I'm playing STO I'll be thinking "geez I really wanted to farm that Rathalos Set"
Yeah, I figured a week or 2 after the end of Risa. Maybe even the very next week.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Let's hope they'll correct some of the power creep first. Not much point in trying to attract new players with the current state of the queues.
Imagine a new player, fresh at level 50, trying his first queued mission that isn't SB 24 or Starbase incursion. I don't think they'll remain active in the game for a long time if they see everything being killed and the instance over in less than a third of the time it's supposed to last.
Oh, and speaking of queues: please fix Starbase Incursion (people still get stuck in the turbolift here) and make sure that low-level players don't get a leaver penalty in Fleet alert for contributing too little. These are some of the first queues that people encounter and if they find themselves unable to play (Incursion) or if they receive a penalty of 1 hour because their Miranda or even T3/4 ships for newer players didn't add much in Fleet alert, they might just log off and never return.
Don't punish players for trying their first queued missions, and don't make it impossible for them to participate by allowing the end-game queues to remain as they currently are. Getting people in the game is one thing, keeping them in the game is also important and that first impression is going to be an important one.
No matter how awesome the new story lines may be, if the first queue they're likely to enter is bugged or penalises them for not contributing enough and if the end-game queues are over before these new players even realise they were in it, you're going to have a hard time keeping them in the game.

Well, that game seems to be a lighthearted, hack and slash mobile game (nintendo 3ds) that you can play while in the bathroom...
I think you will be fine.
july huh? and it takes 25 days for a player to go from 0 to 1000 tokens for a ship in that time with the event usually last 10-15 days after that, so a month and a half roughly?
STO's usual release cycle is on Thursday(?) so days open are July 2,9,16,23,30. if the summer event goes as it should then giving some room, 23rd or 30th for example, give a week between the end event and the launch, looking at the start of June (2nd or 9th of that month) for the summer event to start up. About 3-4 weeks away speculatively when the event window is open.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
@bernatk well you clearly have never picked up a Monster Hunter Title lol...cause that game is one where dumping 300 hours into is extremely easy and you'd still barely touch the surface of it.

I've never played Monster Hunter, but DS =/= mobile.
Mobile is basically "click here, click here, now give me some money or wait. Now click here, then give me some more money, etc"
3DS is a full blown console, with capabilities somewhere between N64 and Gamecube. It literally is a console you can take anywhere, and even has ports of both N64 Zelda games and the original Resident Evil (ok, Resident Evil DS is just a DS title, not 3DS, but it'll still play it).

Look dude, there are ok mobile games (cell phone games for you USA peeps) (like a final fantasy and a few other RPGs) that are not slot machines like clash of clans or angry beards. Also there are android phones (and iphones) that are better than a 3ds. Also mobile gaming includes the handheld market.
What triggered me to put my remark out there is that semalda226 dude said he won't have time to play a PC MMORPG plus a mobile game. That's a pisspoor time management as I can play several mobile titles (RPGs and others) while sitting on the toilet doing my job. And I can progress in those games steadily. (A few taps and you're done with the game for the next 24 hours, etc. Yep I know you can tap away in FF till your eyes bleed or go blind watching those sub 5 inch backlit screens.)

I hope I made myself perfectly clear now.
I've honestly never played a handheld game that was just a few taps and I'm done for the day. Every time a new Pokemon game comes out I lose at least a week's worth of progress in whatever MMO I'm playing at the time. Ocarina of Time I didn't stop playing until I was finished (granted, I was at MOS school at the time and didn't have access to anything else during my limited free time, but still).
I'm not trying to attack you or anything, but the situation you laid out really only describes my experiences with Angry Birds and Candy Crush.
He actually should look at gameplay before spouting off like that lol. A standard hunt can take 20-30 minutes if your properly geared 5-10 if over geared and if you are under geared...well be ready to fight that 45 minute timer lol.
I was waaay off.
I thought the week after the Vegas Con.
I also thought it would be after "Beyond" hits the theaters.
I was right though that They would be trying to capitalize on that movie ASAP.

They usually tend to release new season or expansions on a Tuesday, @mirrorchaos. The Tuesday release helps give them time to get gameplay breaking bugs that seem to crop up on the live server fixed before the weekend.

When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!
