Very nice work with the character model!

Looks like the dev team is hauling all the old geezers from the retirement home. Soon we'll be saying "O my"

The Next Gen series actors are looking pretty "geezer" these days as well so.....

Some day soon all the genners will be watching their favorites get older and be in the same boat as the TOS fans.

It's good to see all these characters being preserved in STO at least.

I wonder if T'Pol will play a part in this. She should still be around at that time.

Yes, yes, yes!!! That would be awesome. But I highly doubt that she will appear ingame. But great idea! :-)

Umm I think it's time for another TOS/TOS Film marathon this summer. Might play both eras on two TVs simultaneously by accident. :p

We poured over references from the various appearences he had made in TOS,...

No, you didn't. "Pour over" is what happens with syrup and waffles; "Pore over" is what happens when you go over information in detail.

    And *appearances.

I know it's considered rude to mention this for ordinary forum posts, but Great Jumpin' Jeebus, you guys are supposed to be professionals, right? I've been offering my services as copy editor to Cryptic since the beta for City of Heroes (for those of you scoring at home, that's since Thanksgiving of 2003)--maybe you should take me up on it?

    Say it with me now...

The Corps is Mother, the Corps is Father. The Temporal Corps is your friend. Trust the Corps...

I wonder though... if we will be touching on the Ent B incident, does this mean a possible Whoopie/Guinan cameo?

rofl. Much as I would love some Guinan in STO. If the likes of Patrick Stewart or Kate Mulgrew are too expensive, I can't imagine Whoopi Goldberg as being cheap. Honestly, I don't see it happening. Ever. Which is a shame.

Star Trek Online is proud to announce the arrival of Walter Koenig in the game taking Pavel Chekov into a new frontier, joining forces with Captains!

Is there a reason this particular Blog was posted twice on the STO News page?

The art team is outdoing themselves these days, excellent work!

There's one detail, though, that I wonder if they are able to get right. Chekov (and I assume Walter Koenig) is left-handed. (I just watched the Genesis Cave scene in Wrath of Khan to make sure I was remembering correctly.) I don't know if it's even possible to represent that in the game engine.

Oh damn, you beat me to it. :)

Anyway, I for one am happy to see Mr. Bester with the Psi Corps Temporal agents in the game.

Like Scotty, I love Chekov on Star Trek. Glad to see him in the game as well. Glad you chose this one over the JJ clowns.

Please let his mirror universe counterpart wear a black uniform with gloves. :)

I'd also like to see Captain Harriman (Alan Ruck) crop up and get a chance to be a bit more competent as Captain.

TWOK uniforms really could use an overhaul. That side by side of Chekov in the TWOK uniform, shows exactly what's wrong with the uniform ingame. But aside from that, good job on the artwork.

Why would Cryptic even put stuff from Babylon 5 in this game, since it's Star Trek Online...

We're not really saying Chekov should wear an actual Psi-Corps uniform. Just making a joke about how Walter Koenig played both Chekov and Alfred Bester. Part of why it was so cool, was that Bester is very different from Chekov.

So Walter Koenig's character Pavel Chekov will be in the online Star Trek universe? Awesome stuff! These is pleasing. .....and his character will be a captain? Good for him! That's even more pleasing. I'm happy for the guy. I can imagine they have already scripted his part and his story, but it would be pretty cool if he got to command an excelsior class starship.

I wonder if the producers will be scripting & bringing in his friends such as George Takei/Hikaru Sulu and Nichelle Nichols/Nyota Uhura?

Exactly it's called a tip of the hat. It's no different to people running around with lightsaber bat'tleths and arguably is far more subtle. There's nothing wrong with a little nod to other franchises every now and then... you can do it without breaking the meta.
