KDF and Romulans got left behind again.

No KDF or by extension, Romulan ships.

Would have been an awesome effort by the devs to give us some new ships with callbacks to the TOS era.

It's called Self Fulfilling Marketing kid.

If you don't build for it, they'll just Go Away.

Remember, we've got a Developer on record as being GLAD that Cryptic will *NEVER* have to create any more content for 1.5 factions still in the game.

And the rest is as predictable as history on fast rewind ...

Yeah...was disappointed to see no Klingon or Romulan ships in that pack at all. Would have been good even if it was just one each and all the rest Federation. Would have been a perfect opportunity to introduce the Romulan D7 and perhaps make some visual upgrades to the Klingon D7/K'tinga. Oh well...

Still love my T5-U Fleet K'tinga Retrofit though. Warp speed, everyone! Q'apla!

$129 was what left me behind. No way, Jose!

Oh my! I didn't notice that... So...they missed out on me getting my credit card out and paying for some Klingon stuff.

LOL! I just told the Hubby about it....
He said: Go find a free game to play.
I told him: this is the free game.

    So, not happening over here.

I wonder how popular this $129 pack is going to be? It's not providing the much hoped for T6 Connie. There's a T1 Connie, but no T6. That battlecruiser looks like it might be a popular item.

Well, I have not a clue about popularity.
I have always loved Klingons. :)

My next "big purchase" is those Pilot Raptor bundle of 3.

    Klingons? Romulans? Who are they?

Are you mixing up Star Trek with another sci-fi IP?

While I would like to have the chance to play TOS era Romulans or Klingons, this is specifically a Fed expansion. Since there are no Klingons or Romulans in Starfleet in the TOS era (aside from spies and infiltrators), there is no need to make Rom or Klingon ships.

    Or missions.

    Or uniforms.

    Or...

    Hmmm.

I'll guess that this new storyline runs from levels 1-50, with the character then becoming a Temporal Agent and moving to STO's "Present Day"; hence the TOS-style ships at T1-5 and 31st century ones at T6.

That being the case, it's entirely possible that we will see a token T6 KDF/ Rom ship at some point.

except that means a rather good sized group of players are effective banned from fully using a spec. you can excuse uniforms and missions but not ships and to a point a spec.

Klingons and Romulans should be able to hijack those federation ships.

That's what bugs me the most about this no T6 temporal ships for you other factions.... or science ships or carriers...

The way I'm seeing this, from the perspective of someone who predominately plays Klingon, I can spend my money in STO on other things. I may purchase one of the big T6 Klingon Command cruisers or something like that. My fleet is trying to get to Tier 5 Military in the Starbase to be able to purchase the Fleet T6 ships. I can purchase Zen to throw at Starbase Tier leveling. Lots of things to do in STO. This just won't be one of them for me.

Perhaps it is time for the Klingon fleets, Romulan fleets, and the Mirror fleets, to engage in greater cooperation?

I have a Idea but probably not a popular one. I say we just merge the factions, give everyone access to each others ships after T5 to symbolize the Iconian conflict. Re-balance all T6 ships to be different enough from each other that it will promote sells of ships other then your standard fed ships. Hopefully also make the various factions/races have different dialog during missions, so they feel a bit unique. This could lead into the introduction of cardassians in the alliance.

do you think here and now is the place to suggest this... and that would mean work and acting like there is anything besides human fed characters, so cryptic would never do it.

I don't perticularly like it either but if it makes them make more romulan ships and klingon ships. Then I think I'd deal with the fact that they are no longer separate factions. Since it seems like they beginning to focus so much on feds. That we are getting next to nothing for the other factions.

The last 4 ships they put out for the KDF are STILL bugged. There is little one could do to convince me that they don't really want us to go away.

This is a groin kick followed up by a knee to the face. Have fun with your new BoP, FEDs, we've only been asking for a decent one FOREVER.

They'll make some KDF and Romulan ships that can take advantage of the new specialization eventually, though I don't understand why they're not introducing them with the Fed ships. I have my fingers halfheartedly crossed that they'll give both factions some much needed T6 science ships (it would fit thematically with the Temporal Cold War stuff going on) but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I'm holding out hope that the Eternal and Ouroboros will be cross faction, like the Paradox is.

Mostly because I use the Krenn, Korath, Rozenko, and almost have the Paradox on my Gorn Sci.

This are Galactic Union Ships so hopefully will be Cross Faction.

LOL! I think you are way too optimistic. And somewhat of a dreamer.

I am just glad they are letting us KEEP our fully developed and leveled KDF characters, at this point.

If they throw us some copy/paste down the road....may be lucky.

(Add: I hope I can talk my fleet mate into completing Tier 4 of our "solo" KDF Fleet Starbase...it would be a shame to let that project die, now, as much as we already put into it.)

yeah about that. they have never released a full spec ship after the first pack. sure we may get a limited amount of seating on a ship or two but whatever the big thing is, if we don't get it on release we will not see it.

While it's still very early to pass judgement on whether there will be any Klingon ships or material at all or not, assuming that were the case - would anyone be really surprised?
I mean - this right here in this thread, we're doing it out of habit, right guys? I can't fathom anyone in this here part of the forum being surprised if events indeed do unfold as suggested.

I disagree as i believe that's apples and oranges. Paid content would be made because it benefits the feds as well, ships would be made look at lock boxs they are not fed ships. But many sell quite well. Interesting features of the factions could be a driving force.

Example: Romulan ships all feature battle cloak and singularity powers. Klingons I would apart of that re-balancing and adding distinctions, give cloak or higher to all their ships. As well as give them something else interesting like their ships have a buff and debuff upon entering combat depending on the battle Tactics they choose before entering combat, you can only change once out of combat.

I think...they would prefer us to defect, buy that Klingon character unlock on the Fed side...and go wear the Starfleet uniforms.

    Now, THAT is EWWWW!!!

Perhaps this one is THE straw. Measly amounts of content = wtf? But flagrant ignorance that makes DR look like a KDF expansion is...I'll be civil and say "ill-advised."

I mean, there are FED-only players starting to ask what's going on at this point. I'd almost rather they just tell us they're removing us. I was actually excited about this. Fool me once, shame on you...fool me 5 times, well, you know.
