Power Transfer Rate into DPS???

Hi Guys. On my ship I have a good Power transfer rate at 551%. If known, could anyone give me a rough idea on what the DPS could be. I'm having trouble sorting out getting a parser at the moment.

Sarcasm Detector could probably tell you how that works and the result you should get from that value in that "slot" that is part of combat calculations.

Sarc has a video .. youtube .. that talks about Pwr xfer Rate being one of the best .. one of the more powerful .. ways to increase your DPS. Words from Sarc to live by.

Props to ya Sarc-D. You da man.

Find someone in game that has a parser and run ISA with them. There's too many variables to figure out manually what your DPS "should" be.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

That's not how it works. EPS only contributes to DPS if you can keep feeding-in power to your weapons subsystem and how much you are able to mitigate power drain. Even then, just giving a number like that won't tell you what your DPS will be. You'll need to actually fly the ship in a map like ISA and parse to find out.

551%....means nothing to be honest. It's OTT, over-rated and wasted especially as you don't say what weapons you're using, and what ship, on top of what consoles.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Cryptic changed how Power Transfer Rate works with weapon power. In the past, your weapon power would slowly regenerate during firing. This meant that players could use power transfer rate to regenerate power faster than it was consumed, thus allowing for more DPS.

This is no longer the case. Now Power Transfer Rate primarily (if not only) affects "distribution" of power. For example, how fast you can reroute power between the four different power systems, and how fast you can reroute shield facing from one side to another, and how fast power returns after Full Impulse. After the change to the weapon energy drain mechanic weapons now "lock" out power and then once their firing sequence is done that consumed power is "instantly" returned. It means no regeneration of power occurs during weapon firing sequence.

The trick to more DPS with this whole idea and way is to increase the overflow or invisible exceeding power (beyond 125 or 130). The buffer so to say. This can be done by engineer players and their EPS Power Transfer ability which increases All Power by 25 for 30 seconds (it also increases power transfer rate). It can also be done with the engineer BOFF ability called Emergency Power to Weapons (+30 weapon power and +13.3% damage at rank III).

So if it is DPS you want then power transfer rate alone will not provide that. Personally I would not go for power transfer rate to this length.
