in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Hey guys with temprol front releasing on the 12/04/16 id thought it wud b fun to speculate whats happening on the 5th. Since its a thursday and Missions / c store items are released what do u think is most likely?

    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Well it is three weeks on from Temporal Front so they're probably just sailing into the next mission which will be related to or set in the TOS era.

    I agree the shat doing VO work for STO , would be about as likley as having jesus christ do VO on diablo :D

    It would be nice yes, but i dont lend myself to hoping for miracles, i think were gonna get a a TOS mission but i doubt shatner will be the VO, i think probably takai , koenig or nichols reprising their roles.

    You may be onto something there, nothing says "think bigger" (from that comment earlier by the devs) or celebrates the 50th more than a full expansion. Perhaps a TOS style FE, as the others have described, which teases things to come. After all, if they wanted to release an expac by the anniversary they would need to start building up interest soon, especially with the summer activities looming.

    I was hoping for a TOS era lockbox his year at somepoint. Maybe the 5th will be X3's announcement?

    TOS FE with Kirk + A.S.S. gold card for kirk's enterprise.... to hope for that much is already doomed to disappointment... to hope for more is foolish

    There really could never be a TOS lockbox, for several reasons. First, most recognizable TOS gear and uniforms are already in the c-store or are episode rewards from the devidian arc. Second, CBS long ago nixed the idea of TOS endgame ships, which would limit lockbox/lobi ship potential. (Apparently excluding odd exceptions like the T'varo, B'rel, or Excelsior; though the latter two are more TMP than TOS I suppose.) And third, even ignoring the last point, faction ships are never in lockboxes except for the 29th century ones, which as they are from the far future makes them still "exotic." As such, I'm not sure what they could even put into such a box to fill it out fully.

    Still, there are still a few holes in plausible TOS gear, so perhaps that could be part of this potential FE's weekly rewards. With a gold admiralty card as the last prize, like the Pastak was for Time and Tide. :)

    Perhaps PWE/Cryptic decided to engage in contract talks with Paramount to add the JJ-Verse license to the game.
    And something came to fruition.

    THAT would be quite B I G.

    <shrug>

    Obviously, They wouldn't show us the JJ Enterprise in a tease as that would give the whole thing away.

    It's more than a bit of a long-shot, but the way Gecko talked, something of that magnitude would fit the bill.

    My suspicions are that, if D'Angelo's little "hint" that got carried into the FCT has a chance of coming true, the 50th will be the timeframe to execute it.

    And, one of CBS's "supposed issues" with an Endgame Connie is that they don't want her standing toe-to-toe with the Sovvy/Oddy. At least as a Cruiser.

    So, issuing a T'Liss, D7, and Connie Science Ship pack would be... theoretically approvable...
    Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

    My thoughts are that 05/05/16 will see the start of a series of episodes where we interact with the various crews from each series during a notable incident, to prevent their removal from the timeline culminating on 8th Sept (which is a thursday so would fit nicely) with some sort of mission to protect the birth of the federation. Followed by a new expansion which does take us into the boldly going style of things.

    After further consideration of all available information Im gonna put my money on Expansion #3... i mean the dev's have been hinting at something big for this year due to the anniversaries so I expect atleast an expansion. Anything less at this point would be a grave disappointment.

    I figured they just moved the release date up and didn't bother to fix the video. That sounds the most reasonable reason to me.
