I playing them on all my kdf toons. And all for the past few days keep failing, bet they are ment to have a strong change of finishing. Whats going on?
We don't want what the Feds have. We want the equivalent. We want fairer treatment. Concern, desire, greed to some extent, and passionate belief that the enough people would buy KDF items to make it worth Cryptic's while.
It's just the RNG messing with you. I've turned in 10 all with the positive trait (peaceful?) several times in the past and still had it fail. I gave up on that one and just use prisoners for the other turn ins and Fleet projects.
That one has always been risky. It's better to roam sector space for "Forced Labor for X" missions, they have a much lower chance of failure. I only turn in prisoners to the security officer when my brig is overloaded and I have a backlog of missions I can't complete because they too have prisoners to reward and I have no place to put them. Only then is the risk justified.
But i got like 32 kdf toons. I never failed this much till this update.
I wish there was a select all option for this mission instead of having to select 10 prisoners individually.
You might be having a string of bad luck. Or they broke something. I know before the past update the confiscate contraband mission was failing a hell of a lot even with 2 purples doffs with 2 required traits.
Also wish they'd fix the menu refreshing after selecting a mission.
You mean refreshing the Mission Selection as well as they do with the R&D Missions?

The mission has a 25% failure rate.
You ran the mission on 32 characters.
25% of 32 is 8. On average, you should have 8 failures per batch.
The fact that you failed 4 or 5 of them is well within the parameters of expected outcome.
You shouldn't be doing that doff assignment anyway. The sector space and colonial ones give much better odds and return of investment.
oh better then 1000 dil? Do tell.
There are Sector Space and Colonial/Nebula KDF prisoner turn ins on a smaller scale, typically around 3 prisoners. IIRC, the payout is about 500 dil but if it crits, it gets better. More importantly, the chances of failure are not high like the one you made this thread about, the one that requires 8 or something prisoners. Human prisoners in particular, which I tend to have lots of, have traits to make this mission get increased chances for failure. What goes from a base 25% chance or so of failure, with Human prisoners, skyrockets to something like 34%. Last I saw this was from the Security Officer series of DOFF missions.
That assignment has a 25% failure chance. With 32 KDF toons doing it, I'm not surprised that you're seeing a string of failures.
25% still should be 1/4 chance in fail. Right now its 100%.
You think that is bad?
Back in 2014 I was trying to get the very rare technician on my 1st captain through the Colonization Support missions. Based on whatever very rare Doffs I assigned to the mission, my critical chance of success ranged between 21% - 24%. You only get the Doff as a reward on critical success.
I kept track of my attempts to get a very rare technician... or at least I kept track up to the 36th attempt. Not a single one of them was a critical success. All of them were either normal success or failures. It took another month of running the mission before I got my very first very rare technician from the B'Tran exploration zone. That probably meant I ran it close to 50 times before getting a critical success.
After getting my 1st very rare technicians, the next 7 of them came relatively easy. At that point it definitely took less than 8 weeks to get 8 technicians. I got 400 Doff slots so having at least 5 extra very technicians can come in handy; 3 of 8 have been slotted for active duty.
You shouldn't be doing that doff assignment anyway. The sector space and colonial ones give much better odds and return of investment.
oh better then 1000 dil? Do tell.
The ones you find in sector space requires only 4 prisoners and a normal success means 500 Dil. These are referred as Forced Labor missions. Assuming normal success for each attempt, a brig full of 20 prisoners will net you 2,500 Dil. For best success avoid using Andorian and Ferengi prisoners, their traits reduces your critical success rate and increases your failure rate.
Assuming you are not assigning any Andorian or Ferengi prisoners, if memory serves me correctly, there is a 4% failure rate which means you get nothing, and a 9% critical success rate. A critical success means you get 1,500 Dil instead of 500. Therefore, a full brig of prisoners can potentially reward you with 7,500 Dil. My best string ever was 4 critical success and 1 normal success which netted me 6,500 Dil. However, that only happened once since March 2014.
The problem is finding the Forced Labor missions in the sectors, because sometimes it could be very hard to get 5 such missions. For example, yesterday on one KDF faction captain I could only find two Forced Labor missions in all the sectors I have flown to which randomly have those missions (basically Fed controlled sectors in Beta Quadrant). It can be quite frustrating to spend around 8 or 9 minutes flying to all the sector only to get 1 or 2 Forced Labor missions.
The explorations clusters (where you get the Support Colonization / Colonization Expansion missions to get very rare Doffs) will have Forced Labor missions as well. Only 3 prisoners are needed and they reward 350 Dil on normal success. Not sure how much Dil is rewarded on a critical success since I do not do these missions very often.
If you are talking about recent changes like last week or two I don't think there were any...
But as for not so recent ones...
About a month or so ago Bolian and Vulcan prisoners suddenly gained "stubborn" trait, which they hadn't had before. Previously slotting them allowed to reduce fail chance on this mission to somewhat 15% or 13% - don't remember exactly. After the change - not so much, of course
That assignment has a 25% failure chance. With 32 KDF toons doing it, I'm not surprised that you're seeing a string of failures.
25% still should be 1/4 chance in fail. Right now its 100%.
When you roll some dice, and they all land on 3, do you think there was a 100% chance for that to happen at that moment? "Right now it's 100%" is not how statistics works.
You shouldn't be doing that doff assignment anyway. The sector space and colonial ones give much better odds and return of investment.
oh better then 1000 dil? Do tell.
Yes, better than the 100 dil per prisoner you get from dumping them at the security officer. The star cluster assignments are 116 dil/prisoner, and the labor requisitions from the tactical officer are 125 dil/prisoner. Plus, of course, there is the minor detail that the security officer assignment has five times the failure rate, which, as you're finding out, can be frustrating. That is the price of convenience.
The star cluster assignments are 116 dil/prisoner, and the labor requisitions from the tactical officer are 125 dil/prisoner.
Only you shouldn't forget that there is another variable about DOFF assignments - duration.
And from that point of view
1. Forced Labor Requisition
500 dil / 4 pris. / 8 hrs = 16 dil per doff per hr (approx.)
2. Forced Labor Camp
350 dil / 3 pris. / 4 hrs = 29 dil per doff per hr (approx.)
3. Consign Prisoners to Colonial Labor Battalion
1000 dil / 10 pris. / 2 hrs = 50 dil per doff per hr
So actually "Labor Battalion" is more cost/time efficient. The greater risk - the greater reward. And this may be important factor, if you don't just log in - start assignments - log off once a day.
I see "Labor Batallion" more as a "dump prisoners here fast because your brig is overflowing" quest. You're correct in dil per hour terms Shades, provided you have an infinity of prisoners. Which you don't.
In terms of absolute dil per prisoner you get:
1: Forced Labor Req: 500 dil / 4 pris = 125 Dil per Pris. No failure chance.
2: Forced Labor Camp: 350 Dil / 3 pris = 117 Dil per pris. Usually 5% failure chance.
3: Consign to labor battallion: 1000 Dil / 10 Pris = 100 Dil per Pris. 10-20% failure chance (less if you kicked the hew-mons and andorians to another mission)
If your toon is purely marauding, you'll usually be able to find the Labor Req missions easily. For folk who don't know, they're listed under the Tactical tab, sometimes also appearing under Current Map. They vary per sector block.

Now on STO. More fun there.
1: Forced Labor Req: 500 dil / 4 pris = 125 Dil per Pris. No failure chance.
There is a 4% failure (actually it's disaster) for this mission as I mentioned in my above post. Slotting in Andorians and Ferengies increases the failure rate due to their traits. See link below.
"Right now it's 100%" is not how statistics works. [/quote]
Sigh. I know what you are saying but the failure rate is 24 to 27% But its failed on 32 toons ALL times i run it.
Let me break it down for you 32 toons run each 3 to 4 times a day. Lets say 3 and i did for another 3 days before i stopped. ALL failed. Everytime. Not on passed 288 times (give or take i ran them).
So i role 288 dice, and they ALL land on 1 or 2 (even thought its 25% but hey for maths we go with 2 in 6 because its easier with dice.
That is a fail rate of 100%. And i can not even pull that off in warhammer.
