Pre-rendered video freezing before tutorial

having an issue where the pre-rendered video is freezing up and locking up the game before i get to the tutorial because of this i am unable to advance beyond character creation
i am not even sure when to even start to fix this or whats even going on as no crash reports never pop up and i have to manual end process on the game client or else it can just sit there for hours. does the same thing if i let the video play out or try to escape
