Delta Recruitment: Fond Memories

I remember hearing about the event, not too long before it started. It seemed interesting, but it was the prospect of some unique things that gained my attention and interest. But I think it was the aspects of the time travel elements that i loved the most, the idea of delta recruit storyline became something not unlike being what a time agent like situation such as what daniels did with archer must have been like. Hunting for iconian clues and tech, was very interesting...and rewarding when they didn't glitch out on you from time to time.

I really loved the whole thing about the relta recruitment, and I wish we could still make the delta toons.

What fond memories about the event do you want to share?

I played every single mission with my partner over about 5 days. It was a fantastic marathon which, sadly, may never come again as she has gone from the game. It would take something very interesting storywise to make it happen again. I think maybe a Gamma expansion would be the only thing that would do it.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

although I didn't really want more then my main 3 characters I was drawn in by the rewards and account rewards so created 3 deltas, I really enjoyed levelling them up and playing through all the old missions though I only really use my deltas for farming now.
as feared even though I only use my deltas for farming my 3 mains have suffered as a consequence, its surprising how much time it takes just to run through doffing and admiralty on 3 characters.

for that reason I am not really keen to have another similar event unless its set up so we can use our existing deltas or else any characters I create will be discarded after the event ends.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Finding a Jem'Hadar strike ship on my first try, and immediately planning out my Delta's identity as a rogue Vorta mercenary with her own loyal jem'hadar, stranded mirror universe version of Elisa Flores, and a denobulan geneticist she hired to engineer female Jem'Hadar.

Haven't had that much fun since STO was first announced and I plotted out my mains crew with a romulan first officer.

Good news for those who didn't already know. Ricossa has said in webcast that Delta Recruit will be returning!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

I liked most that all those old maps and queues were suddendly buzzing with activity once again.

It was a good blast, which got me playing a lot of revamped missions. I ran a TOS Klingon and it was great indulging in that 60s style. Also impressive that the T3 K't'inga remained viable right the way through, even when the character's level was in the low 50s... now *there* is a ship with longevity :).

Indeed good news, and I hope they provide us with one free character slot to participate.

Delta Recruit started with a flurry of activity and ended with a thud.

Towards the end was having to replay the Dominion / DS9 story arc, which most of the playerbase apparently hated. The event progress meter for people playing that arc with their Delta Recruits came to a standstill. That was a hilarious moment! :D

I was like I didn't want another character to do. Since I had my hands full with my 3 mains, and a couple of alts. So after seeing what it was all about. I created my Delta. Andorian to use the Andorian ship. So far I have not fully leveled to for the ship. However I'm not far from it.

I really enjoyed doing some of the older missions, and now I can do some of the ones that replace the older ones. And get to see them for the first time. I'm now doing the new Romulan story arc.

This could be worth while, however I need a new character slot. Or I may redo my Sci with this new recruit.

whether this is good or not so good depends on the format for the event, it all depends on if this is just a rerun of the last delta event with the same account rewards or new rewards, will it be playable by existing deltas or will we need to create new deltas or will it be just in a similar style to the delta based event but based on gamma instead.

it remains to be seen whether it will be worth taking part or not, only time will tell, all will be revealed when they announce the event.

i just have this sinking feeling that a lot of players who are hopeing for a rerun will be disapointed when the time comes.
