I wonder this myself from time to time, i keep going because most other games either have higher requirements such as cards and graphics etc, or cost money to sub, i wish i could find something , but i have not found it yet

Strange... There was some bad lag spikes for me but... stablized. Cost me optionals and some stress in an Infected run... Did the team jump on it real fast this time?

"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

He was bragging on Twitter that it was just a "test". But that "test" has killed tonight's game time for me.
"Test", load of bullscrap, to be honest. He does a DDoS, and he says its a test. It's people like him that annoy the hell out of me. There needs to be a tighter leash on DDoSing, in my opinion.

Do those Reasons involve a badge and a gun?
Technically this guy is committing a federal offence, let the law deal with him

Power play.
There's not that much they can do about the actual DDOS. And he never did DDOS himself, none of his TGG crew ever does their own denials, it's a paid service. As for a punishment, he was online in NWO supposedly himself during this, he even stated the place and instance. Problem really is connecting DDOS to him, and since it's a third party service, impossible.
DDOSing is fairly common in MMOs, two years ago, Blizzard was hit with a massive 400gbps, last year it was 350ish, both originated from eastern europe. WoW is DDOSed every so often, nowadays too.
DDOSing. I really do hate it when people sing in Dungeons and Dragons Online.
'But to be logical is not to be right', and 'nothing' on God's earth could ever 'make it' right!'
Judge Dan Haywood
'As l speak now, the words are forming in my head.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
OMG make it stop already! Cryptic just shut down the servers for a full day and tell this guy GG Man GG so he can feel good about himself and stop! this DDOS Lag is killing the game with the constant attacks.

This would probably only make things worse - do this once and he could intensify future efforts to make it happen again.
Can we create a feedback pulse of some kind?, the more attacks, creates a feedback, blocking their conection, thus lowering the attack until it stops?
Kinda sorta... ish. The server itself can be protected (Cryptic clearly doesn't want to post details of their countermeasures, and I have no problem respecting that) but there's not much they can do to protect the quality of your connection to it while the DDoS takes place.

This.
The only way to 100% block a DDOS attack, would be to block all connections entirely, but that would stop everyone from playing.

That isn't something that Cryptic can really do..
So in otherwords, either Cryptic stop us playing or the DDoS idiot does. Some choice, though I think I'd prefer Cryptic.
Well this is where a Cryptic failing comes into full view, sharing an account server between all of their games.
As I understand it, the peson(s) doing the attack, has a beef with Neverwinter.
Had Cryptic not been sharing servers, STO would be totally fine while NW get's attacked. Same goes with Champions...though I wondered if that game was still running, and it is..
I understand why Cryptic has all of their egg's handled by one basket, but in this situation, it kills all three with one stone.

Any idea what these guys want, perhaps authorities could trace that reddit account, esp since it seems to be involved

That's only because you can't sing and swing swords at the same time, jellybean.
