Destabilizing Resonance beam

When being hit by this beam, my frame rate drops, and then there is rubber banding. Is there any way to turn effects like this off? If not, is there a fix for this to make the graphics of this power a little less obnoxious? I love the mechanics of the power, and the debuff. Just can't handle the graphics.
