I for one am really glad for this event and certainly not because of the prizes. I am happy for this event because the wiki is in SERIOUS need of editing. There is SO much information missing from the wiki. Consoles, set bonuses, some other various equipment, admiralty stats, walkthroughs, masteries of certain ships, ship data, all of that, there is tons of missing information on the wiki, almost to the point of making the wiki irrelevant.
There are many people who will benefit greatly from this event. There are so many new people playing the game, they need this information and old players returning, they too need a refresher.
This event goes a long way towards improving the community...and prizes to boot.

I guess now we should just hope that as many people as possible get involved.

The fact that these entries are still going begging for data, well ... The Mind Wobbles.
We also need info on Terran Sets, both Ground and Space entered over here:
Item Sets
And if someone wanted to participate in the (herculean?) task of detailing what mods get unlocked on Set Items when advanced to Epic Quality, that would be VERY USEFUL. {hint, hint}
Protonic Kool-Aid Down The Drain Cruiser

Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!
I do have to give them props for holding this contest, though. I think it's a step in the right direction. Of all the wikis for the video games I play, the wiki for STO is just plain embarassing in comparison. Maybe this will change some things for the better.
I also think this would be a great time for Cryptic to help out the wikians by going back and reforming the language in some of the game's items and equipment to be less vague and more uniform.
Example: "Control Resistance" vs. "Inertial Dampers" or "Hull Heals" vs. "Hull Repair".
...on which point, how will it be decided? the nature of the wiki is people can change and edit it at will, so if say A wrote a piece but then B improved it with some pertinent data enhancing it, who gets the credit, the original or the improver?
Mark my words, this competition will get messy and of course, as there is no set, published criteria; the chances are the contest judges could be, shall we say 'biased' towards certain entrants?
