I was going over the stats a little, my only real complaint is does it have to be Intel? Every single T6 Science vessel and the Carrier has Intel...I would love something else...especially if we get a new specialization like I hope we might with the new anniversary ship.
If we don't get a new specialization any time soon, command could work (I know I know...people don't like command) concentrate firepower would fit with the idea for the console power, overwhelm emitters and suppression barrage could be nice for a debuff boat.

The Intel consideration is actually derived from canon or close to canon background information. The Nebula is supposed to be used, amongst other things, for surveillance missions and doesn't display visible impulse exhausts due to a presumed "Schleichfahrt" mode. Command could very well work as well, but I personally would like to see Intel just to keep the flavour of the ship. Maybe a dual spec LTC Intel/Lt Command (or the other way around)?
I personally don't really care for Intel due to damage dealing reasons, I'm not using weapons on my scis ships really

IMHO? Let's not do Gorn ships till after the KDF gets a 100% Klingon Science Vessel.
Hows about the other members of the Empire get some loving too?
Every KDF T6 release to date, with the exception of one, has been Klingon themed. Time for something a little different, in my opinion.
Acually, the Feds don't even have one other culture ship out there. The Kolasi was the first alien ship and that went to the KDF. It may be time for an Andorian/Orion/Reman ship sort of thing.

Well, at T6 yeah.... There are Vulcan, Andorian and Caitian designs at T5. But not T6. I'm hoping for an Orion FDC or Ferasan ship. Of course there's also the idea of getting a T6 Balaur.
Of course there's also the idea of getting a T6 Balaur.
yes yes yes! more seriously it would be kinda cool to see a t6 Andorian/Vulcan/Caitian/ETC ship fed side too. And most definitely want to see more 'not-klink' ships in the KDF, though I agree Klink designs should remain the majority.
I like the Bridge Officer layout however if this went live and the Nebula was left with only 2 Tact consoles like the current version despite the Boff stations being flexible and nice i wouldn't buy it. And i think a few other players would be put off by the 2 tact consoles as the ship would be perceived as weak. Don't get me wrong i'd kill for a Tier 6 Nebula, the current Fleet Nebula is flown by my Vulcan sci officer and she handles advanced queues fairly very. The ship is very underrated in STO. But for a Tier 6 version i'd rather drop the +1 Eng console and have an extra Tact console.
While I personally don't have much of a problem with it only having 2...I agree it's going to hurt it...and perhaps all future Science vessels.
You know people are going to say it sucks, not buy it, and if it doesn't do so well Cryptic is going to point the finger at sales and use it as a reason not to make more Science vessels besides for their cheap money grab tactics.
I agree kind of, but i would also say that consoles are not the only way determine if they want to buy a ship. I mean if it has a really good an versatile chip trait, than even with only having 2 tactical slots that might push alot of players to buy it just for the trait.
I almost envision the possibilty of a T6 Nebula/other factions ship as a three ship set, like the command cruisers, to stand in for the mission pod. I figured it look something like:
Engineering version: allow cruiser commands to be available for reduced weapon drain and increased sheil heals, either that or an additional device slot
Science: one additional, dedicated sci console
Tactical: an additional forward firing weapon, or dedicated tactical console, whichever maintains the best balance.
Judging by the traits released on the other cannon ships its highly unlikely the Nebula would get a sort after trait as none of the other cannon tier 6 ships have had sort after trait released with them.

For Science Builds, Command Spec is useless, even with the common use of torpedoes. I don't know about you, but on a real Science Vessel Build, those tac consoles anyways are being used for Universals to give more PartGens or whatever badly needed mod. So, even if Concentrate Firepower would still have use, there is nothing else in Command Spec BOFF abilities that are useful. You can make use of Command Spec's Bonuses, but you don't need a Command Spec ship to use that.
Pilot has nothing useful for Science Builds at all.
That leaves Intel. Intel actually has 2 abilities that come immediately to mind being useful for Science Vessels:
Ionic Turbulence - Landing a powerful resist debuff
Override Subsystem Safeties - Extra Power and go way over the Subsystem Power Level Caps. I use this before I spike in my best Science-based attacks.
Intel is the only set of Specialization BOFF abilities that have use for Science Vessels.
I'll pass. I never liked the Ha'nom from the first time I picked one up at subadmiral. I absolutely refuse to pick up a Gorn ship. A pack such as this must include a Klingon science ship or no deal.
I refuse to pick up another KDF ship that is Klingon. The Nausicaans FINALLY got another ship; aside from that, it has been nothing but Klingon ships for far too long.
As for reasons for a Gorn ship, the Gorn were well known for having the best tractor beam technology in the Alpha and Beta quadrants; while these were not specifically science vessels in the books, it would lend itself to a science vessel in this game.

Which is why, IMO, the Fed Donut(Scryer) is such a powerful Sci ship. It can Ionic>OSS>Grav Well 3, AND it gets both the analysis power and intel powers.
Speaking of which, the Nebula Class skin needs a HUGE overhaul... I can agree that the factions all three could use more designs that would take elements from their member races, even if just the major founding races like with the federation an how many worlds they have inside it. Honestly i would love to see some federation ships that use designs from their member races, such as the Bynar or Vulcan, but which are clearly still federation at thier core.
I would love to see just each ship in the Kdf and Romulan factions have parts that you can use that have a design very much defined to the race it is crafted by. Like having parts on a Battle-cruiser that would give it a look reminiscent of a Gorn ship, or a Orion ship, even in the case of the Romulan faction of a Remen designed Dhelan or D'D. Doing this woujld give a player the ability to use a ship that feels alot like their chosen race in the faction without having to make three or more variants of the ship in stats, as the parts give you that ability by the choice of which parts you use, and also it shows how the factions are now mixing their design and tech of each group towards a common design.

It's agreed You get what you want, they don't sell many more Gorn science ships and they can renew their bullsht reason for why they don't sell science ships, And the Klingon players get fcked over yet again. No deal
You can save that piece of sht for the D'kyr/Varanus/Reman science pack.
For the love of God please not an updated varanus or ha'nom
I wonder if the average casual player even has a proper fleet Ha'nom as it requires 4 fleet ship modules, 1 upgrade token, and access to a tier 5 SB for a ship that doesn't even come with any special console or that can be used by any other alt. I bet those are already flying their free event Dyson, or simply bought one or all three from the C-Store as they are more easily accessible and have more features and abilities, and better handling (important for DHC) at the expense of some durability even in science mode alone.
If they want to really see how well Rom Sci ship sell, it is in their interest to give it a fair test, and put some solid creativity into making something brand new as was done with the Faeht, Aelahl, Command Warbirds, Morrigu, and Dinaes to name a few of the new ones that I've really liked.
I am all for a T6 Nebula. I am also in favor for more Romulan and Klingon science ships. I do not, however, want another Gorn science ship. I want a Gorn escort. My Gorn tac officer demands it!

We can sorta do that already. There are Reman styled hull material options for Romulan ships.

True though a material look or overlay is not like having a ship possessing two similar yet distinct design styles. Like how the Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer is a variant look of the dhelan design that still has alot of similar design elements of the Dhelan, or how the Tal Shiar Adapted Battle Cruiser is a variant on the D'deridex class, and so i could see them making afew parts actually for the different ships that have a vary distinct Remen look an style compared to the normal Romulan style.

Irrc the only Reman ship design in game is the Scimitar so the most similar looking design would seem to be the Baratan Command Battlecruiser with the big style wings whether this is a reman influence or not is not mentioned.
From the wiki for TS Adapted destroyer "Bearing a vague resemblance to the Dhelan Warbird on which it is derived from, the Llaihr is still recognisable as having been a Romulan Warbird at some stage, with a distinct main body/command section and forward-swept wings. Despite this, the ship's altered Borg appearance gives it a distinctly insectile feel. " could describe any number of ships as the actual design looks more like an alternate B5 shadow ship design, than a Romulan ship derivative.
The Ha'nom reminds me more of a WW2 troop glider than anything else while the other Romulan sci ship designs [DSD, temporal] are more sleek, which for whatever reason is what I look for in a sci ship. I have flown the Nebula on occasion but generally give it a pass-by as it looks like a Galaxy and Miranda class had a baby and its name was Nebula.
IMO, sci ships should be sleeker if your trying to grab a lot of sales. Boff stations are also a plus taking the standard Vesta boff layout and making the eng a LTc would satisfy the boff seating for me. But I won't drop money on a sci-cruiser wannbe ship, cryptic can make great ship designs but some like the Ha'nom just don't seem to appeal to a large number of buyers.

Regarding the ease of access to the Fleet Ha'nom, you can blame Cryptic for that. The Roms have other ships that cost like that like the very capable Fleet Ha'feh (seriously, a T6 version of that flexible ship would be nice). The KDF had been going through that even before the Roms were even playable in 2013. Most of the ships in the KDF Fleet Shipyard system are 4 FSM ships like all those Nausicaan Destroyers, the Vo'Quv, Vor'Cha, Corsair, Kamarang, etc.

Correct. When Cryptic previewed the DR ship pack stats before DR hit, I didn't notice that synergy. But when I was cycling through ships for masteries on my Feds after DR, it was when I fooled around with the Scryer on my Fed TAC and reading up on, using "those new, oddball Intel abilities" did I see it. I've been meaning to get my Fed TAC into the Fleet Scryer.
The Dauntless and T6 Intrepid have more limited access. If either are going the OSS1+Ionic Turbulence 1 route, it can be done with a bit if tweaking. But the Scryer with it's Cmdr SCI/Intel can go higher while the other 2 ships are limited to Lt at best.
Also, EMP Pulse Probe has funny effects on certain NPCs that one can benefit from mightily

I agree that it is more insectoid looking than normal, and vague is a good word for it, but i can see where it evoled an shifted from the Dhelan, since not many of the Romulan ships have that forward sweeping wing design other than the Dhelan an Scimatar. Yeah that is what i thought of the three Adapted/Assimilated romulan ships we see in game that they reminded me almost of a prototype shadow Vessel, though i can pretty well tell what overall ships they evolved from like with the Adapted battle cruiser that looks like a much more aggressive looking of a D'D.
An yeah they don't really say what ships the Remen have had influence on, or in design for, but honestly with creating even with help from the Military the Scimitar that was widely seen as the most powerful vessel large it would make sense that they would put more Remen elements into further designs. Though also the Remen were largely slaves before the fall of the empire an Romulas, but in the Romulan republic they are basically seen as equally so seeing some distinctly Remen looks coming out as they rebuild the fleet would make sense as, and to me at least the pilot ships have somewhat of a Remen look with how they share some design elements with the Scimitar that is known to have been Remen in design.
I can respect that you like sleeker designs as honestly some of them do look quite nice like the Vesta and Intrepid class lines, though i will say that the Advanced research/Nebula class is designed an meant for a different style of missions. It is a Research vessel an so i think of it more as a ship that runs experiments an tests experimental technology, or that takes on research missions into areas that have strange phenomenon happening inside them. As such i can see why it would have the design it has, also this is the Sister class to the Galaxy class so having similar design styles an elements is expected, but i could see it getting a more streamlined an sleeker design. Though i will say that to me the Nebula always caught me as more of a Carrier science ship, that uses the hanger-pets/vessels to recon for it an get the info it than disperses among the rest of the fleet. I personally liek the Dhelan for boff layout an could see it fitting into a science role, but would rather see something much more sleek an interesting though not necessarily small in size mind you.

I agree kind of, but i would also say that consoles are not the only way determine if they want to buy a ship. I mean if it has a really good an versatile chip trait, than even with only having 2 tactical slots that might push alot of players to buy it just for the trait.
Trouble is all that matters to your common crowd is deeps...and they would have to make it a good ship trait...so far the only Science ship with a good trait is the Scryer. (I don't count the Annorax because it's nearly impossible to obtain for the average player)
People were saying the t6 defiant sucks because it didn't have this or that...still had 5 tac consoles though, people are spoiled and entitled brats...and I'm sure Cryptic would be glad to use any excuse not to make more Science ships.

Oh i agree that it would need to be a pretty good trait, though i would say that the pathfinder trait the gives you a absorb shield when you use a shield heal is pretty nice. For a trait for a Nebula I could see something like that using a science power has a chance to cause the power to duplicate the effect for 50% of the normal effect's strength, or that using shield-stripping/power-draining/immobilizing/de-buffing abilities give a stacking boost to damage against that target. I could also see maybe a trait that gives you a damage output boost based on how many science consoles you have, while you have shield/energy drain active like that the science ship has a extremely efficient an improved power system of relays that remps up wen having additional power funneled into it.
I always have seen the Nebula as the closest thing we will get to a true "science cruiser", per se.
While I wouldnt mind a third tac' console, there are a lot of sci guys out there doing some nifty things with a total sci-power supporting build, the beams on thier ships are pretty much thier secondary weapon system. Would I want to PvP it that way? Probably not but thats because of the way that PvP has been over the last several years. As far as I can tell, the pace is too fast for many sci builds to really shine, I just don't see a grav well or Tychens really rocking the shop.
Sci is pretty fun in PvE though, I have a moderate grav well Nebula build and enjoy seeing every Mirror ship attacking DS9 getting sucked together in a nice grav well.
Intel certainly fits the Nebula thematically, and mechanically it's probably still the best specializations.
I still kinda hope we'll get a new interesting specialization for ships, that might be aimed at Science Vessels. But the Nebula is probably the wrong ship for that.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
A Nebula should really be Intel based as it's supposed to be a sort of intel/interference/snooper ship if you see what it does in the shows. We only really see it in action as part of a web designed to catch cloaked ships so I think it fits perfectly that it'd be intel oriented.
As far as the spec trees go I find Intel the best primary for science, and command is best as the secondary. That way you get all the useful passives like exposes, flanking damage etc but not the less useful team oriented command stuff. Even the passive bonuses from those two are extremely useful, especially the command as that extra hull HP's really helps keep weaker science ships alive. Combine the high shield HP's, the boosted hull HP's and all the access to healing abilities and you can have a very tough little ship.
That little Scryer was mocked when it first came out just because of how it looked, it turns out it's probably the best science ship you can get. (Intentionally ignoring the Annorax as it's almost impossible for most people to obtain).
Yes, we need non-klingon science T6 ship on KDF side, no I don't personally want it to be Nebula-reskinned Gorn Varanus, but rather a T6 Kar'fi. I can already see people jumping on me saying Kar'fi isn't a true science ship, well yeah instead of another boff ability at t6, she can get sensor analysis, that would bring her closer. I think sec deflector is a crutch and not needed on ships with lots of science consoles. She still comes packing Commander Science, and through her we would also get a T6 carrier as well. I can see Kar'fi being Intel as well, but wouldn't mind pilot either (yes she ain't that big of a ship and her 4/3 loadout and lack of HP and pretty good turn rate winks that her design was definitely based on an escort and not on a cruiser).
I'm not a personal favorite of Ha'nom by any means, and in fact would prefer a brand new design, something similar to Double-D, a more classic approach, but something not necessarily of that size, with a more fair manouverability.
Nebula needs a reskin and a remodel, she looks uninspiring for a well known Fed ship, she should get Intel at T6 absolutely agreed, and a slight bump in damage through additional tact boff, to make it more self sufficient.
Speaking of which, the Nebula Class skin needs a HUGE overhaul... Absolutely, I didn't touch the skins at all but this goes without saying.
Same for the Varanus and Ha'Nom in this case. It's funny that so many people complain that the Ha'Nom wouldn't look good, just assuming the T6 variant wouldn't get a new skin for whatever reason - it most deinitely will, but that was nothing I touched in this thread. The T6 D'D skin looks hardly like the originalm I'd suspect the Ha'Nom get the same treatment

Acually, the Feds don't even have one other culture ship out there. The Kolasi was the first alien ship and that went to the KDF. It may be time for an Andorian/Orion/Reman ship sort of thing.

yes yes yes!
I agree kind of, but i would also say that consoles are not the only way determine if they want to buy a ship. I mean if it has a really good an versatile chip trait, than even with only having 2 tactical slots that might push alot of players to buy it just for the trait.
Engineering version: allow cruiser commands to be available for reduced weapon drain and increased sheil heals, either that or an additional device slot
Science: one additional, dedicated sci console
Tactical: an additional forward firing weapon, or dedicated tactical console, whichever maintains the best balance.
IMHO? Let's not do Klingon ships till after the Gorn get a 100% Gorn cruiser, battlecruiser, escort, or destroyer.
Science vessels are the only thing Gorn have right now; Klingons have everything else, even carriers.
I would go for just about anything that is NOT Klingon at this point. Orion or Gorn would be my top picks.

It's agreed
You can save that piece of sht for the D'kyr/Varanus/Reman science pack.

I wish the Gorn ships had a similar flavor as to how they were in SFB but no Gorn anchor plasma boats of doom can be had in this game.
I still kinda hope we'll get a new interesting specialization for ships, that might be aimed at Science Vessels. But the Nebula is probably the wrong ship for that.
My 2 pesos anyway.
