Any chance this, and all other "out-of game" lore could be included in-game for those folks who don't use the Forums?

It could be placed in a sort of galactic library that anyone could visit...

    o:)

Would love e-reader friendly compiled versions of this.

Also why did we run off instead of try fixing the sun? It was established it can do that so... not even a try before 'oops gotta put this dangerous sun destroying weapon into a hole in the ground' without explaination on why not even an attemt was made or the tholians needed beyond 'it was meant to be' at the end. Just... just....

Actually it wasn't established that anything could fix a star that had be collapsed with the Tox Uthat.

Actually didn't New Dawn establish it could? Even if not there's just no real sense that anyone did anything beyond shrug at the people who literally lost their entire system.

No, they established it could fix SOME forms of problems, but not the full limitations.

It's not as if no one offered to help the Na'kuhl. just that for whatever reason they couldn't fix their star.

I'll give you that, but it still makes the 'not even gonna try, let's just put it in a hole in the ground' thing not make much sense. Even jist a throwaway line about it being too extensively damaged or not enough power, or SOMETHING beyond an after the fact 'this is how the timeline must be.'
  • markhawkmanmarkhawkman Member Posts: 35,236 Arc User
yeah, that would have made sense.

It should also be noted that the notion that there is no place to put all the refugees we COULD save is ludicrous. We own a fricken' Dyson Sphere. There is enough space on that thing for everyone in the known galaxy to live on.

Transporting those people would be problematic. Galaxy class starship has crew of 1000, so assume transport an extra 2000 at most if packed to the gills, and that's for a large starship. Just a billion people would take 500 trips. And that's not including the necessary materials for shelter and supplies for those people to live on the surface of the (hostile occupied) Solonae Dyson sphere.

Wasn't the Jenolan Dyson Sphere "chock-full-o'-lethal-radiation" in that TNG episode?

No. The star was unstable and they needed to get out because it had started giving off a lot of flares. So yeah, it had rads, but it was a temporary problem. Apparently the star is in a quiet phase now.
