A snowman can look at them funny and they explode while the Snowball Mortar and Shaved Ice Turret have much more surviveability.
A 5 minute recharge for such a weak device is ridiculous.
As for weapons I really haven't gotten the new caramel ball launcher, not my play style. The new candy-melee weapons are interesting... though I do wish there was more of a lunge/teleport/leap effect when trying to target/attack the snowmen. it happens occasionally, sure but I just can't cover the gap as an engineer before someone else pops them with a weapon or they freeze-dry me.
It was nice to finally pick up something purple for my Reman.

Community question:
Did I get stuff? Well, I did get the Epohhs on my main... last year? The year before? Just like he got the Risian birds and the monkeys. Because I can. And I wish Cryptic would implement some sort of pet storage. I might be more inclined to get some more pets then. I also got the... I think it was the first year's Lirpa and Bat'leth. You know, those that had just been handed out by that tiny... was it a ferengi?
What else? Uhm... I wanted to get some of the clothes, but I could not quite decide which character should be the first to get them. Oh... and I tend to get the kit modules for the more "important" ones among my characters. Again, just because I can.
Did I regret any of my purchases? Well, I got "Avalanche" when it came out and I don't quite regret getting it, but I wish... either the secondary shot would charge up faster or the snowpeople had more hitpoints. The way it is now, everything (except for that giant snow boss thingy) is dead before the shot even goes off.
So... I have not purchased anything this year, but I got some stuff over the years and I plan to get some more stuff eventually.
Oh, and what about the ships? Do those count? Because I got all of them and I'm working on the Rezreth. And I don't regret it, because they're free ships, they have become account-unlocks and they're useful in the admiralty system and the newer ones are T6, so they got starship traits that might or might not be nice to have some day...
K'Vort championing:
Well, uhm... how do I put this... It's not that I "want" a K'Vort ingame. It's more like... I wasn't happy with the T5 Excelsior, the Fleet Excelsior, the Fleet Heavy Cruisers, the Fleet K'tinga... all those silly ships that should have been turned into scrap metal a long time ago, but Cryptic could basically hide behind "It's canon, deal with it!".
Then they redesigned the Vaadwaur to make them more serpentine-looking. And the reason given was something along the lines of... "The makeup was not quite as good as it should have been, so we've decided to improve their design."
Which makes sense and I'm actually on board with that notion. (Within reason...)
And then they just go back and hide behind canon. Can you guess what I'm talking about? Correct, the T6 Excelsior.
Let's face it, the Excelsior, the Miranda, the D7/K'tinga (Yeah, those are pretty much the same ship to me...) and the BoP (how is having that tiny B'Rel and that huge K'Vort being canon not silly in and of itself?) have only shown up in the Dominion war because the production team was too cheap/lazy to get some new models built. If you apply the logic behind the Vaadwaur change to it, those ships could have been used in the leveling progression, but should never have been turned into endgame ships.
So, basically I have not been championing for a K'Vort, I have been championing for a little more consistency ever since the T6 Excelsior showed up. If you refuse to let the stupid Excelsior die like it should have a long time ago, then where are the T6 Miranda and the T6 K'Vort battlecruiser? And don't start with "that would be silly". Because it would. That's the whole point. You went with silly at the start, you supposedly moved away from it with the Vaadwaur, then you go back to being silly again. Pick one and then stick to your guns, but this kind of meandering around doesn't fly with me.
Badlands battlezone:
Well, I played through it once. So, I'm not gonna do a review quite yet, but it was pretty much the Undine space battlezone with different visuals, slightly different mechanics here and there and for some reason it felt like it took forever.
We still ended up taking down all three starbases, I just did not enjoy it quite as much as the Undine battlezone. But like I said, I only played it once, so I'll have to play it a few more times to be able to determine why it felt like such a drag.
