Now if we can just fix the issue with different users having different default posting formats, when everybody should be using BBCode really, things would be great. Tired of seeing "null" where people have tried to make a quote and you then have no idea what they were trying to quote. Or people getting every line of a quote prefixed with ">"...

    Edited for reference posts:
This user is one of the people who for some reason has been set to post in TextEx by default rather than BBCode.

And this user is one of the people who have been set to use plain text rather than BBCode.

Not sure why this is the case, but it's been an issue since at least the migration to Vanilla. Perhaps you could work your magic and unify us all under the BBCode banner once again @pwlaughingtrendy

Now there is no way I can get the picture back up or any other. Since I've been having problems after having to switch email providers there is no way I can accomplish this. Cute. Real cute. :|

Well, we did put out an announcement warning people to back up their forum-specific avatars. Thankfully though, you can still find it sourced right here...

I've seen people say multiple times on the forums that quoting someone when posting on a mobile device (like a cell phone or tablet) will result in the "null" message. So it's a matter of the forums not working correctly on other devices and not the player's fault, to my understanding.

Edit: Also I don't know which people you are linking to as examples. Recently the forums broke a bit and we now have that problem back where instead of being taken directly to a user's post it just puts you at the top of the page. Another bug that's back is when you get to the bottom of a page and click the next button it won't take you to the top of the next page and stay on the bottom.

Oh yeah, I'm not blaming the users. It's more that during the development of the enhancement plugin several of us noticed that not all users default to BBCode, even on non mobile platforms. The TextEx (which results in a null when people try to quote) could possibly be some mobile platform issue though right enough. You can tell what your default formatting is set to though using the 'inspect element' option when you right click in the post comment box. It should read format="BBCode" but for some people it doesn't.

I had forgotten that links to posts don't work for most people these days. I block the forced redirect to the embedded version of the forums so they still work for me, it's actually one of the big reasons I block that haha.

Edit: Also, I must echo a previous comment from the maintenance thread on the presence of Trendy's GIF next to every GNN post. The raptor was much less... distracting.
