Haven't had much time testing it yet... sooo since it's exotic damage, it also benefits from the particle manipulator trait. Looks nice so far, especially if you combine it with other things.
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.

The Force is united within me.
Radiation builds are becoming extremely lethal, it ignores shields and armor so PVP just took it up the TRIBBLE once again. Lol
The debuff looks nice...but the radiation damage is less than Aceton Beam...rank III does less damage than AB I, and only 20 second duration while AB is 30 seconds.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

The good thing is that you can use both at the same time, especially since they are offset, meaning the EIB III is already a lt cmd ability. I used the ensign version and really like it so far, it adds a considerable portion to dps and helps to melt down big HP sponges even faster :P
I could see it having some use on high partgen builds that have excess engineering seats, like the Scryer for example. I don't need that Lt Cmdr eng seat for any more heals so this could be useful. Not tested it yet though.
I am wondering if they might update the improved weaponized emitter star-ship trait that makes acton beam, and overwhelm emitters affects targets within 3km, to now also effect the Endothermic inhibitor beam as well with it being basically a varient of the acton beam. If they do might be worth it for better aoe radiation damage and making the trait more useful.
It's not bad...but collapse structural integerity seems to work better. The duration is lower, but it has a faster cool down, and the lowered kinetic resist combines well with various kinetic damage abilities that ignore shields. Because let's face it, even with the extra 20% shield damage, you ain't dropping shields of most advanced critters in this game before you melt their hull anyways.
Got myself a copy of it today (structural integerity collapse II) and I must say it is a really nice addition. It also combines very well together with the endothermic inhibitor beam, especially since you can engage both at the same time. Pop a gravity well togehter with the destabilizing resonance beam and/or perhaps a subspace vortex or subspace integration curcuit right after that & if the foe is still alive, some torp spread III ^^
Frankly I love it because: 1 you can get it at Ensign level. 2. I'm all for Offensive things being added to the Engineering Seating. 3. Fairly cheap in the winter store compared to what you get.
Can't say it's that great. It's only "target foe" meaning it only works on the immediate target, unlike other abilities that enhance all weapon fire against multiple targets like kemocite. Most of my enemies are dead or almost dead before there's any chance to active inhibitor beam, and since it doesn't carry over to the next enemy it's pretty much wasted.
Well, it becomes very useful with some of my builds, and not so much with others. Debuffs are a great thing, you just need to figure out a way to exploit em properly... or just bfaw away as usual

Except it's a Engineering ability...
Shhhh, they'll nerf it like the shield drain torpedo.

Throw on OSS and TBR to that build, and you'll be sci cheesing it with the very best (cheesiest) of them in PvP
Science magic ftL
Science ruining PvP since DR.
Way to go folks, just keep using the cheesiest builds in the game ! Well done, way to kill pvp.

Mission accomplished !
The Shield Drain torpedo is still pretty impressive, though. It's now pretty much my favorite one.
