Zen & C-store items account limited - / locked

klax00rklax00r Member Posts: 9 Arc User
Hello.

I recently bought a $90 Zen package for STO and used that to buy a single ship upgrade token. I then went to trade it on the exchange, but it was... untradeable. Apparently all my zen and purchases are account locked. I've used it before plenty of times, but now i can't sell stuff i buy with Zen?!

How long and how do i get this sorted out?

Assuming the coin wasn't supposed to be bound by description/nature etc,

    Please look at this topic:
    http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1171380/fraud-prevention-system-probation/p1 (1st page linked)
This may give you some information of what could have happened: the probation system possibly triggered.
It was meant as a (temporary) security measure, and to have a minimal amount of false positives and a minimal impact on/hassle for/burden to those who buy mainly for their own account. (I will try not to write in this topic my opinion about this all. I do say that having the probation system triggered doesn't mean you are a criminal or even likely to be. Any information in my post may be inaccurate and is surely incomplete as well but may be useful in order to find what could be the cause of that issue.)

Did you see a notice just before you purchased the ship?
(it's advisable to cancel and wait, e.g a day in such case. You'd better buy only when you stop seeing this notice.)
As I understood, anything you buy in c-store while on such a probation state, will forever be bound to your account.
There may be other relevant restrictions - please carefully read the topic itself.

Once the (alleged temporary, cautious restriction) is lifted (usually within 7-10 days as the 1st post says), new purchases will not be bound (unless supposed to by description/nature of the item). Still, old bought items (which were purchased during the probation period) stay forever in account bound state.

    Thanks for the feedback rndflactuation,

I was mostly frustrated with how long the probation is, as it stated nothing about it. I did buy a couple of ships as they're not transferable anyway so it didn't do me much harm. I'll wait for the probation to end before buying ship upgrade modules to sell on the exchange for EC. I was going for a huge upgrade, so i bought plenty of Zen to spend in this manner.

Doubt i'll buy another single Zen in the future though with this fraud protection. After reading the thread, it's a miracle Perfect world is still in business with their bruised and battered customers.

I know. I undergo a similar issue without doing wrongly. The reason I was looking blunt possibly was my trying to censor self from using a too harsh language or from opening a discussion which doesn't belong to this topic. I do have a strong opinion about this all.

I hope it solves soon for all innocent affected ones. Good luck.
