Screen-accurate Galaxy-class interior?

bassmas314bassmas314 Member Posts: 39 Arc User
(Not sure if this falls under the "custom interiors" portion of the FCT, if so please forgive me.)

I recently purchased an Andromeda-class exploration cruiser for my Delta Recruit, and since I grew up watching TNG, I naturally wanted her to be as close to the Enterprise-D as possible both outside and inside. When I went to select the interior though, I was sad to see that the bridge options only vaguely resembled the one from the show and the rest of the interior was just the generic Starfleet interior. I would like to request offering a new Galaxy-class interior set for exploration cruiser Captains, similar to that offered for Intrepid-class and other long-range science vessel variants, as well as the Defiant and Constitution interiors offered as part of the DS9 and TOS bundles, respectively. In addition to a more authentic bridge, I would also like to see TNG-style corridors, main engineering & Captain's quarters, as well as replacing the generic mess hall with Ten-Forward.

I know I'm asking a lot and that interiors take a lot of time and resources to make in the game, but it would mean a lot to me and other TNG fans who play the game. I hope to hear back on this soon, and wish you all well.

The new federation tutorial's "Origin" bridge came with a unique ship interior that mimicked TNG and VOY interiors just updated with the new "sterile" black on white theme. it was mentioned, way back when, that they were working on a way to bring it into the starship customization... But there's been zilcho top-story news on it since a month after that update....

We don't want what the Feds have. We want the equivalent. We want fairer treatment. Concern, desire, greed to some extent, and passionate belief that the enough people would buy KDF items to make it worth Cryptic's while.

I liked the new interior, too bad it never did make it to the player base as an option.

They did an awesome job on the TOS bridge and Voyager Bridge. Who did those ? @tacofangs ??
    Anyway they look/feel awesome.
If the same person did the TNG bridge I'm sure that would be awesome as well.
And hey, you know A LOT of people would buy that bridge pack. I for one would buy it if it became available.

But I think they need a reason to make one, like with the Voyager bridge, parts of Delta Episodes take place on the bridge, and needed to be created.
Anyhow it turned out to be really sweet work, so I'd welcome a TNG counterpart.

The TOS bridge is amazing but it's really difficult to use on anything other than a connie as it feels very out of place on a galaxy class ship.

You know what's especially ironic about this statement? They have a full interior for the Scimitar and for the Tal Shiar Adapted Battlecruiser from the missions, but Cryptic has repeatedly refused to make them actual interiors. They gave straight-up BS for why they couldn't make them into proper Interiors when they already existed (something about how they "weren't intended to be interiors for the ships"; basically BS).

Realistically, the only reason is because it's not worth the time to go back and code-link and adjust the Interiors to your ship and populate it with non-interacting NPCs as well as a bar NPC and some other interactive NPCs. The Tal Shiar ships are T5, requiring a hefty amount of investment time, and are old and busted (figuratively; since T6 Lockbox/Lobi ships sell now). The Scimitars still sell like bottled water in a desert and there's no incentive to go back and add to what is still a major seller.

The only real hope of seeing any such interior is if the ship hasn't been released, but features a mission placed in it that they could cash in on. The Pathfinder + Interior happened to meet both criteria at the right time. The Scimitar's interior was too late (a late Delta mission long after the Scimitar has been released), and I think the same was for the TSAB/TSAD.

It's also too late for the Galaxy and Defiant as well; the ships have sailed without any iconic mission to feature their revamped interiors. Which was something many were originally speculating and hoping for; what with La Forge's Galaxy having been spotted in the ESD dock list and the return to DS9+DS9 episode revamp. Regardless, the Andromeda sold like wildfire to the desperate Galaxy fans while the Valiant... Well, it may as well should have come with a revamped interior given the mixed sales (although from what I've seen, it still sold plenty enough that it probably didn't need a Defiant interior).

There's also the Elachi interior from one of the Elachi Rom missions; but that also never was made into a proper Elachi ship interior.

At best, we could maybe hope for the Scimitar interior to appear with an eventual T6 Scimitar bundle. But I wouldn't hold my breath. It's better to go in already disappointed and come out the same or better.

To be fair, we've actually had the canonical Defiant interior available since early 2012. It's the Belfast interior in the DS9 Bundle Pack - along with the TNG-era admiral uniform, the Type-10 shuttlepod, and the Bajoran Vedek robes.

Poor performance of the TOS and DS9 bundles has long been assumed as the reason why Cryptic just stopped bothering.

I was referring more to a possible 2410 "update"; like the 2 different Intrepid interiors we get.

But yeah, I could see them judging off the bundles; thing is, not everyone wants the whole house and the kitchen sink. Some just want the sink. They don't need a new house. But as the sink isn't available separately, some just choose not to buy it at all.

And the overall point does remain; it requires lucky circumstances to get a new Interior at all. The Pathfinder got lucky. The Andromeda and Valiant did not, same for the other ships with some sort of interior featured in a mission (heck; I'm not sure if the regular Freighter ship even has the Freighter interior featured in a number of past missions; including the early Fed mission involving the SS Azura).

I've never really understood why Cryptic never made use of ship interiors more. You think of all those episodes where 90% of the action took place on board the ships, it seems an awful waste crafting some really gorgeous interiors and then nothing being done with it.

A Galaxy and/or Excelsior/Constitution interior would be an instant buy for me. Even with bugger all to do, it's nice to beam in and actually have a proper interior, it just feels right. I remember when I got the TOS interior and we found you could actually go inside the jefferies tube we were like OH THIS IS COOL. Remember when I got Elite Force the amount of time I wasted just wandering around the ship.
