Mirror Temporal Ships? HUH!?

Okay, so it's been a while since I watched any Trek episodes involving the Mirror Universe so I don't know everything about it. But what I'm trying to understand is how the Terran Empire is invading NOW, in a time we could kick their butts and destroy their Empire, but are receiving help from their future? Does that ultimately mean we DON'T destroy the Empire? Should't we get help from our future ships if they're doing this? Hell, why is the Empire even invading anyways!? I don't see any tactical advantage in this! Shouldn't they focus on just maintaining their own universe? I doubt we have plans to invade theirs, especially after the Iconian War.

This whole thing just doesn't make sense and opens up a ton of questions! Am I playing Star Trek Online, a game based on a universe that TRIES to make sense, or some fantasy world that just goes by whatever happens?

It seems the current incursion is led by Mirror Leeta, who has demonstrated a startling amount of avarice and ambition. She's invading because she basically has poor impulse control, and is armed with not only Future Mirror Tech, but Mirror Pah Wraith powers, too, so she's probably capable of getting what she wants if we're not careful.

Also, the current galactic powers aren't exactly in a position to defend themselves, having just went through a stupendously bad war with the Iconians. Like, literally, both in-game and in blogs, have stated that the Federation, the Empire, and the Republic, are in pretty bad shape. If anything, this is the PERFECT time for the Terran Empire to invade.

Plus, the weapons and ships they acquired from their version of the future were what they used to defeat their versions of the Iconians; it was also implied that the Terrans forcibly relieved their future patrons of their technology.
    ".... you're gonna have a bad time."

My guess is they had a spy or spies keeping tabs of events here in the prime universe. Saw the beating the alliance powers took from the Iconians and reported back that the time was right.

What I'm not getting is how a Bajoran gets so much power in the "Terran" Empire. I know Spock became Emperor but that never made sense to me either. And what the hell are the Klingons doing on the side of the "Terran" Empire? Has everyone in the MU gone mad??!! O.o

I guess Cryptic confuses "Mirror Universe" with "Opposite Day".

Leeta is the Avatar of the Pah Wraiths. thus she has the power required to change people's opinions.

Ok, not getting how Leeta ends up Avatar of the Pah Wraiths even in the MU but I'll roll with it.

Can't wait to find out how Mirror Quark turns out...

    1. Questions don't need to be answered right away.
    2. Mirror temporal ships were actually introduced with the temporal lock box a couple years ago. The new addition is the temporal dreadnought, but you may have seen the Mirror Temporal destroyer hanging around (I've got one for instance.) :P
    3. The Temporal Cold War was referenced in the latest episode. Most likely the Mirror Terrans are being used as a proxy (a la Vaadwuar in the Iconian War) by another faction. More details are probably not far away (keep an eye on those mirror reputation logs you get access to every tier.)

Dukat was the Avatar in the Prime Universe.

Hmmm but it does make one wonder who was the Emissary in the MU.

if i recall from ingame flavor text, the MU didn't HAVE an emissary, nor had they discovered the wormhole until recently
