so all the posters that have been complaining lately how the queues are dead and that they cant get any of the 5 player queues to play and even more so the 20 man missions like mine trap must be either mistaken or something.
and if the rest of the queues don't pick up I can see them going the same way one day.
the thing is once the queues were buzzing with activity and you could be sure you would get a game in minutes if not seconds, now days if your not in a pug group you could wait days for some of them to pop.
without seeing the stats for these games its hard to say but obviously these missions were not being used enough in cryptics opinion.
Well, whenever we wanted to play Mine Trap, we spammed some social zones, and recruited from proper channels. Within only a few minutes, the queue popped. Yes, it was THAT simple. Of course, not as simple as waiting silently for a queue to pop; I can see how many players are overwhelmed and complain about it before actually trying to fill the queue using this thing called social interaction.
Maybe the queues should all be retired.

Problem is that some simply hand out bad rewards compared to others which put them on the disadvantage to begin with.
See now I'm of the opinion that although it's true that some missions give out less rewards we should still be playing for fun.
So it's not so much the rewards that are the problem per see, but the way the game forces everyone into some monstrous grind-fest constantly, meaning the high rewarding missions are favored over others that may well be more enjoyable.
People are so obsessed with needing the next new shiny that they spend all their time grinding rather than seeking out the enjoyable missions.
I'd rather play Mine Trap which is always good fun despite the low rewards, than play endless runs of ISA and CCA which are literally the only queues popping these days.
But the game forces most people down the grinding route, so they always go for the path of least resistance or in game terms the queues with best reward:time ratios.
The game doesn't force players to do anything. It just currently rewards endless repeats of a few fast-completing queues much better than a balanced mix of everything. You may rather play Mine Trap for fun, but many others are in it for the rewards and will go where they get the highest payout. Not because they're forced to, but because they want to.
Wouldn't be nice if they ever gave a "series completion" reward? So that if you take three different queues in a row you get 'X'for a bonus reward , if six different in a row you get 2 times 'X', if 9 times in a row are different you get 3 times 'X'. Something like that? People who are grinding would have reasons to check out other content because of the bonus reward. More queues would pop, and there would be less stress and player conflicts. It would probably also lead to more fun!
I too am sad to see these missions go, but quite simply they have too many missions at any one time. Last time I counted they had over 80 separate queueable missions (counting all difficulty levels as seperate). There should either be some sort of rotation schedule or have some of the reputations like Romulan and Nukara unlock at earlier levels.
The breach was a fun little queue, doing that trench run and the escape out of the ship in a tiny little defiant was just epic
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

I'm registering my disgust and disappointment at this move. The Breach was one of my favourite queued missions and I'm sad to see it go. Mine Hunt is always one of those things I wanted to try out but never got around to it. Guess I never will now. Didn't even know about the 20 man queue channel until now.
Mine trap was awesome and if the queue would actually pop I'd probably do it regularly. Problem is the only things that ever pops are the Borg stfs and cca.
I never played Mine Trap but looked up videos of it and it seems fun. I did play The Breach and did not like it that much, but I see how it has certain qualities that I understand why people liked it.
So, yes, it is sad to see content go (temporarily? for good? Who knows).
Add to that, and I feel like I've said it 100 times now, the fact that people just face-roll the crystalline event for any marks when it comes around. This event shouldn't reward "any" marks. It ruins the queues throughout the rest of the year.
I am theoretically with you there. Crystalline is one of the more boring queues, pewpew finished. (In case you're wondering: yes, there are queues I like). Still, a move like this would only mean to do what some are accusing Cryptic of doing: moving players where we want them. There's a certain hypocrisy here, and I myself am guilty of that. Kick out ISA! (Wouldn't help, there would be another go-to queue for everything).
And having been, on a totally different site, on the organizing end: too much of a choice splits up players too much. You really have to limit it. And maybe it is correct that battlezones are the go-to scenario now. Either way, there are too many queues - most hardly pop as a PUG, I wonder how I would complete my reps these days. The whole system doesn't work here, and it is not only Cryptic who are to blame, but also the playerbase. But if we want something that I don't want, do I really have the right to complain?
Still, it is sad to see content go. And maybe keeping the option of queues for private groups would be a nice thing. Then again, it might keep people from playing PUGs, so that newer players are out of it. And here the hypocrisy mentioned above rears its ugly head again...

IMO Mine trap should be reworked to 5-man mission. And the Breach is the best quick mission, but about two or three times longer than standard mission but with the same reward, so people playing this fewer.

Such a TRIBBLE move Cryptic.
I managed to rally 20 players on ESD chat and it was AMAZING. Literally, it was the first time I'd got to play the game in years AND we nailed it, each getting nearly 200 Marks and the title of "Saviour".
Cryptic are fools and so out of touch with what we want from the game that it's pitiful.
I'd like to say a big thank you to the guys who set up the 20player channel for getting Mine Trap running again. It was much appreciated as i'd forgotten how much fun could be had in that queue!
Plus getting 200 marks as a reward was a decent payout too.
It's a real shame all your efforts are lost now but hopefully people will still use the channel for other large queues.
Shame on you Cryptic for taking away a mission that was becoming popular again.
There are many, many queues you could have taken away, some of which NEVER get played, but you chose a popular one.
