Problem is that some simply hand out bad rewards compared to others which put them on the disadvantage to begin with.
See now I'm of the opinion that although it's true that some missions give out less rewards we should still be playing for fun.
So it's not so much the rewards that are the problem per see, but the way the game forces everyone into some monstrous grind-fest constantly, meaning the high rewarding missions are favored over others that may well be more enjoyable.
People are so obsessed with needing the next new shiny that they spend all their time grinding rather than seeking out the enjoyable missions.
I'd rather play Mine Trap which is always good fun despite the low rewards, than play endless runs of ISA and CCA which are literally the only queues popping these days.
But the game forces most people down the grinding route, so they always go for the path of least resistance or in game terms the queues with best reward:time ratios.
The game doesn't force players to do anything. It just currently rewards endless repeats of a few fast-completing queues much better than a balanced mix of everything. You may rather play Mine Trap for fun, but many others are in it for the rewards and will go where they get the highest payout. Not because they're forced to, but because they want to.
mine trap was an awesome pve mission sadly crippled by the need for 20 players to queue at any one time, we can only hope that it will return in a cut down version for 5 players but I would not hold your breath while you wait, there's still no sign of no win returning.
I know many players say that content should never be "retired" but if nobody's playing it then I guess cryptic feels it wont be missed.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
useualy when you release a season im pretty sure you are meant to ADD content not remove it, it wasn't even broken in anyway and was my favorite source of romulan marks as well, also "reviewed" is the WORST excuse ever for removing them, there was no reason what so ever to remove them while "reviewing them" its not like you are removing a phyisical thing to look at it, you got a test server to review them on for christ sake rather than removing content that cryptic keep going on that they "cant make fast enough for us"
I am sorry, but people claim that "nobody played those queues". Really, I am not nobody, nor are the 19 other guys.
I just don’t get it, it was not broken, they even fixed some bugs in Mine Trap earlier, it was not exploity, there was a community forming around Mine Trap at least. Truly bad decision.

RIP, Mine Trap. It's a shame my game crashed today before the demorecord of the last run was saved. It'd be a nice walkthough to keep.
So long The Breach and Mine Trap. "Potential improvements" to me means they're gone for good. I hope Undine Assault isn't next as it's one of my favorite STFs - used to binge on that one all day at one point on elite back before the difficulty changes, and the random drops were good and the battles always epic.
I made a suggestion about this a little while ago. What they should do is remove about half of the missions from the public queue but keep them all available to start privately. Note that I only pug. This way we need not lose content and with less clutter a better variety of pugs would pop.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
The ironic thing is that, in a recent Lootcritter review, one of the questions was: "What is your favourite PvE?". From what I've seen, most people posted either Mine Trap or Breach.

Nobody's is playing the majority of the queued events. Mind as well remove them.
actually that's not quite accurate, many of the other queued missions are played only by private groups so they don't necessarily show up as queuing, not as much as they used to be maybe but they are played.
its easy to get your fleet mates together for a 5 man pve queued mission, not so easy to find 20 fleet mates on at the same time.

so all the posters that have been complaining lately how the queues are dead and that they cant get any of the 5 player queues to play and even more so the 20 man missions like mine trap must be either mistaken or something.
and if the rest of the queues don't pick up I can see them going the same way one day.
the thing is once the queues were buzzing with activity and you could be sure you would get a game in minutes if not seconds, now days if your not in a pug group you could wait days for some of them to pop.
without seeing the stats for these games its hard to say but obviously these missions were not being used enough in cryptics opinion.

(Sarcasm) Why they are at it why not remove Starbase 24, Gorn Minefield, Klingon Scout Force, Colony Invasion, Starbase Incursion and Big Dig all good maps but again hardly ever pop when i decide to queue up for one.
Talking of Starbase 24 i still miss the ground part of that mission.

I'd like to feign outrage, but I haven't touched Mine Trap in ages, and never saw anyone else even queued for it. So, whatever. Maybe they'll rework it as a 5-man, or something. Maybe not.
Gutted they removed Breach as it was one of the best for a real good scrap and the map was huge. I really would have liked to have seen a vote-to-boot system implement to further discourage AFK'ing for free marks.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
as for me, i find queue design so totally 90's! always reminds me on the first operation flashpoint (god shooter !), where u'd have to q up as well to get a online-round goin.
open instances like in bz's (or most shooters nowadays), that's more my taste. with individual missions, one could do every content whenever one feels to do so, without the danger of just leeching it away.
and still teamwork could be tied to greater rewards.... whatever, add some q's which are played for half a year just to throw all the worktime which was needed to create em down in the thrash.
that's consistency lol...

Tactical Team sucked, once upon a time. I got it buffed. Don't think for a minute that Cryptic ignores forum feedback.

Fixed that for you. Aside from NWS, they're replacing stuff hardly anyone plays with brand new stuff.
Id be interested to see what the results would be.
Should it stay ? Should it go ?
Did you play it ? Yes or No (explain your answer)
I know in our fleet there are many who like Mine Trap a lot.
In fact, before DR we would run Mine Trap quite frequently with fleet members only !

I am also GUTTED about "Mine Trap", which I was personally responsible for getting people riled-up to play!
