The heavy, stuffed chair squeaked as Admiral Quinn leaned back. Ever since the rebuilding of Earth Spacedock, his chair had squeaked, and there was never enough engineering time to deal with it. The engineers were always busy doing other things, like keeping the station from coming apart when the inertial dampers went offline.

I might also institute a cross-training program with Romulan Republic and Cardassian Defense Forces, given that some of these graduates might actually be in a particularly good position to relate to their counterparts in these services, who manage unlike the Klingon stereotype to be a military first WITHOUT resorting to brutish belligerence or conquest for the heck of it. This would further show the graduates that they are valued instead of worthless throwaways.

Different teams handle different things, just FYI. Whatever team is in charge of coming up with with the news and events isn't the same as the team handling art assets. And those handling art assets do not handle bugs and other issues outside of art asset-related issues like uniform clipping.
The simple fact of the matter is that Cryptic uses a poorly optimized engine that's mutated into a horrible monstrosity (their own words) and doesn't have a team large enough to fully fix everything.
Some future. [/needeyerollemot]

I'm fairly certain that's a joke related to the fact that Berengaria VII actually has real dragons a hundred meters long.
The probes in Tzenkethi space are unknown and not near Ferenginar.
The star near Ferenginar may be dying due to unknown circumstances since a star dying isn't big news unless it's going to supernova and burst gamma rays over a nearby planet in a few years.
Hey, when you reinvent the wheel call me. Considering what Spacedock looked like at the end of Midnight, Quinn's lucky he still has a chair. My captain is an engineer, he'd fix the damn chair himself. Maybe that should be a DOFF assignment in spacedock, Fix Quinn's chair.
The team should definitely add that squeaking sound.
Eh, another wrinkle is the weird formatting.

Someone must tell the story of Red Green Starfleet Maintenance Engineer
Haha, that would be funny.
As to that DOFF assignment, let's call it a very rare assignment and it also upgrades the quality of the assigned DOFF when it crits. Perks of schmoozing with CINC-Starfleet.

Security would probably lose Linnea like they did with Sela.
It is not a surprise, with all that technology and the internet, people are dumber and dumber.
In a sense this is true because most of us cannot do things that would've been common survival skills 100 years ago. This is why all of us turn into idiots as soon as the power goes out, both in our homes and on the road.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read, but I believe we all missed something far more important than Quinns' squeaky chair...
...his office has a door?
I know, I'm just making a speculative joke about what the episode will be, since they completely neglect to mention anything about it. Though, given that the episode's name is "Sunrise", I'll probably have to go with the dying star. Though, if any part of my joke turns out to be true, I claim the right of "called it".

Maybe the spot we find him on ESD is not his office, more like the Admiral/Station equivalent of a bridge?
Or the door is invisible and untouchable.
Yeah, this I would be interested too . But they are the nice two , 300 -year-old symbiont and 3-years-old Ocampa governing the Starfleet.
"reports of unknown probes in Tzenkethi space"
Mmm so we'll get to tangle with the Tzenkethi at some point? Have their xenophobic stance towards Federation changed by 2410 at all? Maybe figuring out where these probes come from could break the ice betwen the Fed and the Tzen'.
It's great to see that Quinn sees the issue. I wonder if we'll see commanding officers who had no choice but to sit in The Chair, even if they weren't ready for it (yet). Resolving conflicts created by a few of these "green captains" would put an interesting spin on the "lets-get-back-to-exploration" thing imo

I thought I was being funny when I posted the Marine Engineering Flowchart, not negative...
But I do find myself wondering now, has Quinn got more than one office? Which is not entirely out of the question, but I do wonder.
