As much as I'd like to see DS9 revamped, I just had the sinking realization that in order to do that, they'd then have to revamp the missions that take place aboard DS9 (i.e., Second Wave, Boldly They Rode) in addition to any of the new Cardassian arc missions they're making if they don't happen to finish the revamp before they finish those missions. I'm not confident they'd go to the trouble.
Ewwwww, please NO. The fact that STO has not gone with that monstrosity is one of the things I like better here than in the novelverse.
Then some other Federation designed base. Doesn't make sense that, 30+ years on, it hasn't been replaced.
Maintenance/obsolescence cycles seem to be very different in the 24th/25th century--even in the show, where we see the Excelsior class in service for a VERY long time indeed.
If the Nor-class station has proven easily maintainable and durable enough (and we see it survive another major attack in Boldly They Rode), I don't see any in-verse need why it should need to be replaced.
(That and I would HATE to see that lovely Cardassian architecture replaced by some bland Fed structure.)

I assume you also want the several 100 year old ESD replaced then?
Maybe by a Nor Class station?
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

They might let the missions use the obsolete maps if the next (final?) phase of remastering is to go back over all the Featured Episodes, which are soon to be the most dated content in the game. DS9 was less dated but it wound up being largely rushed after the PWE acquisition.
That said, the new Mirror DS9 ground queue seems to use the old map as well.
What I would like to see are some quality of life changes (for all "main hubs"):
Exchange, bank and ship selector all in one room/area right next to the spot where you beam down.
That is.... really boring, and doesn't exactly encourage you to go out and explore any of the social hubs in question.
Why bother going to Sick Bay looking for a doctor to fix you up, when they happen to be right there in the same room as the Chief Engineer, Dock Master, and a simple console dedicated to the Galactic Exchange?
By that logic, why design any more of any social hub other than just that one room adjacent to the beam-in point? It's not like you need to have separate rooms for your mission contacts; being in the future and all, you can simply ring them up over a comm line.
..... dude, seriously. Going out and walking around a social hub to access the various features and utility functions isn't going to kill you.
As it stands, several of these kinds of characters are already fairly close to each other depending on what hub you're in (ESD has all the ship related ones literally all next to each other behind two long desks).
I get where you are coming from and I have absolutely nothing against them adding more social hubs and zones to visit, but when it takes X amounts of loading screens and running from one end of a zone to another to equip an inactive ship, sort the bank and to buy consumables I'd like it to be more convenient and less tedious (and yes, the revamped ESD is much better in that regard).
So, no, walking/running around the hubs and doing all this stuff is not going to kill me, but it will make me choose the hub that is best for my needs and ignore all the others after visiting them once.
There are many ways to play and enjoy this game and to me tedious and unnecessary running around for logistical tasks is not part of an enjoyable experience. *shrugs* I'm just lazy.
Still, as I said I do not want to take anything away from you, but I'd like to have the option to make it less of a hassle for me.
Edit:
How about adding a "Visiting Admiral's Office" to make it visually appealing and in-character? A desk, some chairs, a console and one or two security guards in front of it.
The console should have access to the bank, mail, exchange, ship selector and merchants, etc. Make the console more expensive than the merchants (delivery fee).
The return of Odo and Quark/or son of Quark maybe. It would be great as well as hilarious seeing Odo chasing Quark around DS9, trying to catch him making dodgy deals.
sickbay and security are nice ideas, a revamped quarks is important too, but i think this threads been missing a key element to Ds9... the station was almost always full of people moving about the promenade. the ds9 in game feels empty. Outside the station too... ESD, Qo'nos and even drozana all have npc ships flying about... a new DS9 needs this kinda traffic to feel more alive!
Simple, make it as authentic as possible. I think on the show 1/3 of the promenade has been build as set (blueprints where to find what should be available). It would still give the devs the freedom to fill the other 2/3 as they see fit.

Not exactly, in the show the entire circle was 'seen' and had locations relative to each other. The sets were constantly redressed for all three thirds.

Oh ok, was some time ago or I always slept when a third without quarks bar, Odos office, replemat, sickbay or the bajoran temple was on screen.
I never understood where the klingon restaurant was though. Perhaps that was such a redress.

I'd like them to use this one as well. It look a heck of a lot nicer and bigger. It give better option for social areas and even add a captain's table to it.

It strikes me that after the Dominion War, it actually just became a lot easier to source parts for repairs to the existing Cardassian station. They probably have a contract for parts and consulting with the Cardassian government--though obviously with a huge amount of security vetting for personnel involved (which is possible given the degree of Fed involvement within Cardassian borders). No more having to raid Empok Nor for parts or the like--they can get parts right off the assembly line and vet a few consultants to be on call for Engineering just in case.
