New Player Questions re Feds and Dil

Hi,

I been playing on and off a 2 - 3 months and got a KDF, KDF aligned Rom and Fed toon. I can easily run the appropriate missions to get contraband on the KDF toons and get plenty of prisoners to turn in and goodies etc.

What missions do I need to look for as a Fed toon? I am transferring contraband over from my KDF toons, but there must be a way that Fed toons can work the system?

Any feedback on that is appreciated.

There are people who have KDF alts just because of easy contraband. "Confiscate from crew" is about the only one that comes up often enough and awards it on the ordinary success fedside. Prisoners are even more difficult to get (and transferring those from KDF alts won't do you any good, unlike contraband) but they're not as useful to a fed character.

Fed has confiscate from crew and critical success on some tactical / espionage (Strike against fugitive network, maybe Infiltrate the Orion syndicate). Fugitive also gives prisoners but you can't use them for much -- Feds don't sell slaves

There's also "inspect suspicious freighter" or something and I believe it also gives it on ordinary success... But I'm not sure because I've seen it exactly once. and most of my commendations are lvl 4.

To get dilithium the KDF has the advantage of "selling" the prisioners for dilithium. This is not slavery as such, just a forced labor battalion XD.
The slave selling, however, is to the Orion to get Gold Pressed Latinum.

The KDF has the same, and this, over the FED. Capturing fugitives from facility network will give you Dominion prisioners, which you can only use for prisioner exchanges in the Alpha Quadrant, or the regular delivery of prisioners.

Looks like everyone mentioned most of the DOFF assignments on this list (http://sto.gamepedia.com/Contraband), aside from the rare 20h "Investigate Reports of Trafficking in Contraband in [X system; I remember Risa, I think]."

If you are regularly Marauding, the Klingon (-aligned) toons will have more Contraband; I haven't seen a way to boost Fed production in the few months that I've been playing. Feds do seem to have it easier for Refugees for the Asylum/Sanctuary assignments, if that's of any help.

Fed toon have a hard time getting Prisoners but I can provide you with the duty officer assignments that may help you out.

First of all you will want to do the Facility 4028 Assignment chain at the end of it you get a Vorta Prisoner, after that you can do the Strike Against Fugitive Support Network where if you get a critical success you can get more prisoners and the last one is Uncover Intelligence Leak much Strike Against Fugitive Support Network you will also get a prisoner on a critical success.

Now if you looking at getting Contraband, that isn't as bad. You can get that from Confiscate from Crew, Inspect Suspicious Freighter and Infiltrate the Orion Syndicate on critical success.

also I forgot to mention that you can only Strike Against Fugitive Support Network after you have finished the Facility 4028 Assignment Chain.

It's important to note that you also have to have completed the Facility 4028 Episode in order to gain access to the related Assignment Chain. Of course, that Episode gives you nice things... so you should do it anyway.

Add to the list Offer Civilian Resupply Contractors a Lump Sum To Sell All Cargo. It is a rare Dyson Sphere assignment that awards contraband on a crit.
