it might just be me but i think that the romulan faction is missing a few ships the two that spring to mind are science vessels and i dont mean the dyson thing that was silly and a carrier since even befor the current competition for a new fed carrier the fed and klingons had full carriers were as the romulans only have heavy escort carriers. just worndering if we might get one ...some day.
might be nice to get a few more choices on hanger pets apart from scorpion fighters lovely as they are every one can get the elite ones through rep anyway

I didn't really like the ha'nom, but maybe I just didn't give it a good enough chance. (also, the thing looks kind of a dudes junk with wings to me.)

I think that was my big problem with it, huge and slow. I can deal with only so much sluggish movement and turning, though with some of the stuff one can get these days it can be mitigated better now then when I first tried it.
Edit: and since I got rid of it long ago, I wont be trying now. Not gonna waste dil getting an outdated ship that probably could not keep up at all with the newer content.

Can, maybe, but do it well? Even with a T6 ship with all MK XII stuff can be pretty rough doing a lot of the iconian episode. My neglected engineer died a lot before making some changes and upgrading most stuff.

really? I do it in t6 ships with only blue/green mkXII all the time... its rare for me to have purple XII but it happens, a few mkXIII from the delta quests but those are blue. Not to be a TRIBBLE but it sounds like you might want to examine HOW you play. Knowing your ships and which powers to use when can massively upgrade your survival.
Maybe I just really suck at STO then. It is possible, very possible.

It is clearly not a shuttle, with a crew of (only!) seventy three survivors.
So the crew strength is most likely somewhere above 160 persons, turning shat ship into a shuttle (Commanders gig second skin) is just a cruel joke.
This is in STO. It's one of the costume variants for the Commander's Gig.
uhmmmm... please re-read my post, especially the
(Commanders gig second skin) part.
Park a Kestrel next to a Commander's Gig and tell me that again.
Agreed. It's more like a Romulan version of the Defiant, small, compact, just a Sci ship not a escort.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

It's almosty the same reason why we never got the K'Vort - which is just a Bird of Prey, but larger. It might have worked for a TV show where it is only seen like that once or twice, but all the time? No, that won't fly.

Aside from that - the Dyson Destroyer is one of the best Tier 5 Science Vessels in the game. And the Dyson - especially with Romulan Materials - is also great looking.
The usual effective science vessel builds (Grav Well + Torpedoes) work just as well on the Dyson as on any other ship. The transformation mode might be superflous and a Hangar Bay might be preferable (even if hangar pets suck, at least you can launch them all the time). And even there- while your Cmdr Science power is on cooldown, switching to Tactical Mode isn't bad - you got an extra weapon and maybe another power to activate that buffs your damage output.
A Tier 6 upgrade would be awesome and would probably also fix the only "science weakness" the ship has - that it doesn't have a second Lt.Cmr Science. (But a Lt.Cmdr Tactical was never a bad thing to have on any ship class..)
The Ha'nom mean weakness seems to me that it has a low turn rate. Boost that to DSSV levels, and bring all the science ship abilites on it (Sensor Analysis and Secondary Deflectors primarily), and it would also be a great Tier 6 Science Vessel.
It is the same model, but the scale is supposed much larger (in the TNG episode we had "only" 73 survivors on board, the "only" suggests that the crew was much larger), turning it into a second shuttle skin was just another lazy, half assed excuse to deny the RR a additional science ship.
The Science ship is the same model as the Scout ship not the shuttle. It shares the same hull and nacelles with a completely different head.

Not quite as lazy as using the B'Rel, call it K'Vort and claim it's larger now, but pretty close. But that's what you get with an 80s TV budgeta and 80s lack of CGI capabilities.
Cryptic seems to have decided they can't follow that model of laziness, probably because it would be way too obvious.
These ships will probably share the fate of those Fed kitbashes (like the one using that Maquis Raider and Intrepid model parts) and never make it into the game.
Again, they didn't. The Shuttle was seen in 'In the Pale Moonlight'. They modified the scout ship, a ship with no determined size at all.
Pkus the Yeager was seen so far back all that could be made out about it was that it was an Intrepid with wing like plyons. There's no reason why Cryptic would have to use Marquis Raider parts at all.
